(FREDERICTON, NB – August 5th, 2020) – After starting their season last Saturday at Petty International Raceway, the Atlantic Modified Tour heads north to Geary, New Brunswick and Speedway 660 for Round Two of their 2020 season. The Fox Chevrolet 35 on Saturday is the first of two visits to Speedway 660 on the year and is a part of a double header weekend at the track that sees racing on both Saturday and Sunday. The green flag goes in the air for qualifying at 6:30pm on Saturday, August 1st.

In the season opening CannaConnect 35 at Petty International Raceway, it was Logan Power (Riverview, NB) driving the No. 10 car for Greg and Darrell Butler who landed in victory lane. Power, a Street Stock regular at the high banked River Glade oval, took little time to get accustomed to the Modified car but had to dig deep at the end to make the winning pass. Power’s win earned him an encore performance in the car as he will slide in once again for the team this Saturday night at Speedway 660 for the Fox Chevrolet 35.

While Yves McCray (Neguac, NB) had to settle for second in the CannaConnect 35, his heat win last Saturday night gave him enough championship points to lead the Tour standings heading into Fox Chevrolet 35. His lead over Power sits at a mere five points after one event. McCray is the most recent winner at Speedway 660 in Atlantic Modified Tour competition, winning a wild Sunday SpeedWeekend affair last September.

Sophomore driver Travis Conroy (Miramichi, NB) sits third heading into Speedway 660 after a podium run last weekend at Petty Raceway. Conroy, who has gone with a blacked out look to his Modified ride for 2020, has only one previous Speedway 660 start. The former Mini Stock winner at Speedway Miramichi will have James Matchett (Miramichi, NB) on his crew to lean on for pointers around the Geary track. Matchett is coming off a podium finish at Speedway 660 in the No. 55 Goodine Racing Street Stock two weeks ago.

Zean Dutcher (Miramichi, NB) is fourth in the standings after one event with the Atlantic Modified Tour with Braxton Stafford (Blackville, NB) and Brandon Skidmore (Springhill, NS) tied for fifth after the CannaConnect 35. Stafford and Skidmore are both former RE/MAX East Coast Elite Pro Stock regulars at Speedway 660 and will look to use that experience to pilot them to their first Modified triumph at a track both know well.

For the fourth straight season, children aged 15 and under will be admitted to the grandstands for free to every stock car event at Speedway 660. The admission structure makes it easier for families to attend race events at the track and received positive feedback from fans when implemented mid-season in 2017.

Adult grandstand admission price for Saturday’s Best of the Best Pro Stock 150 is $25 (aged 16 and up). Pit admission is $30 and is restricted to those 16 years of age and older. A weekend pass, which includes admission to the Best of the Best Pro Stock 150 on Saturday and the Urquhart Construction Street Stock 75 on Sunday, is available for $40 for Adult Grandstand Admission or $50 for a Pit Pass. Tickets are available at the gate on race day. Pit gates for competitors will open at 1pm on Saturday, grandstand gates open for spectators at 5pm with racing getting underway at 6:30pm. A complete race day format will be available via the track’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/Speedway660, later in the week.

Please note, due to COVID-19 regulations in the Province of New Brunswick, Speedway 660 is required to collect contact information from every individual that attends this event.
