Atkinson, Dutcher, Goodwin, Collett Earn Victories on ReCar 200 Night!

Last Updated: July 9, 2025By

(July 7th, 2025) – Speedway 660 returned to action Saturday evening with packed pits and grandstands for the running of the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series ReCar 200 presented by Wonder Auto and Tire. It was a popular win in that epic showdown, with Lonnie Sommerville (#23) returning to victory lane for the first time in a number of years by besting the likes of Ryan Messer (#1), Tanton Wooldridge (#01), Dave O’Blenis (#48) and Greg Fahey (#20).

O’Blenis and Sommerville battled for the lead for much of the race, with Sommerville initially gaining the lead on pit strategy, but then found himself trailing O’Blenis in the closing laps. O’Blenis ultimately spun his tires on a restart which provided Sommerville an opportunity to propel back up front and stay there until the end.

Action was contested in four other classes to cap off a stellar night in the Geary Woods. “The Old Musket” Richard Atkinson (#40) found his way back into Riverview Ford Victory Lane in convincing style, leading much of the race to take the checkered flag over BJ Gillespie (#69) and Jacob Logan (#37). Atkinson would sweep the day by also capturing the heat race victory.

Former Sportsman driver Zean Dutcher (#55) raced his way into Riverview Ford Victory Lane for the first time in decades in the 35-lap Atlantic Modified Tour feature. Dutcher captured many big Sportsman wins in the 90’s and now has a home with the Mighty Modifieds! Dutcher’s win did not come without adversity – he would go for a spin after contact with Conrad Murphy (#89) while battling for the lead. Murphy would tap out accepting blame for the wreck, allowing Dutcher to regain the top spot and never let it go. Yves McCray (#58) would score a second consecutive runner-up finish, while Street Stock star Luc McLaughlin (#29) would earn a podium result filling in for TJ Leighton. Dutcher and Chris Wilson (#2W) won heat races out of the 11-car field.

It was a Goodwin Showdown at the front of the Shur-Fit Automotive, Bumper to Bumper Street Stock feature. Hot on the heels of his first big win, Kyle MacKinnon (#22) wanted to go back-to-back. But he would be stopped by his own nephew – reigning track champion Riley Goodwin (#77) who captured his first feature victory of the year! Goodwin would have to muscle his way to the lead around Justin Cole (#38) who would ultimately cross the line fourth behind Luc McLaughlin (#11) in the eleven (11) car, 35-lap affair. McLaughlin and Daniel Atyeo (#15) won ten-lap heat races.

Tyler Collett (#21) has knocked off three consecutive feature wins to start the Gallons Towing and Auto Salvage season – with his streak extending to four in a row back to the end of 2024. Collett wheeled his way to a strong win as Darren Wilcox (#32) once again had to settle for second place over a big podium finish for Ben Woodcock (#94). Stephen Rose (#44) and Jesse Sommerville (#56) earned heat race victories.

Speedway 660 will be back in action on Saturday July 26th at 6:30pm with the rescheduled Ricky Bobby Street Stock 150! The anticipation is only building after the recent rainout, don’t miss it!
