Pro Stock Tour race: 2PM today
(June 30, 2016) The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour makes its annual visit to the Geary Woods this afternoon. Tour drivers, from all over the region, will go head to head in the Cummins 100. Race fans will also be entertained by the DMR Auto Sales Street Stocks and Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters. Racing begins today at 2PM.

“Fans know the tour visit is always one of the highlights of our season and we’re looking forward to welcoming fans and race teams from all over the Maritimes and beyond for this weekend’s Cummins 100” said Speedway 660`s Max Roy. “The Maritime tour has been coming here for over twenty years and has always provided fans with incredible entertainment and some of the best racing you’ll see in eastern North America.”
Dylan Blenkhorn and Cassius Clark have split the first four races on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour this season. Clark, from Farmington, Maine won both races at Scotia Speedway, while Blenkhorn, from Truro, Nova Scotia won races at Riverside and Petty. Cole Butcher, from Porter`s Lake, Nova Scotia, won the Cummins 100 at Speedway 660 in 2015.Cole Butcher (#53) won the tour race here last year. Cole, who is top five in points, needs a win in order to close in on Clark and Blenkhorn who are the top two drivers on the tour.
“Speedway 660 has been very good to us and we look forward to coming back to race in front of the great fans there again this weekend” said Clark. “We won the Best of the Best 150 up there on June 4th and the 250 on SpeedWeekend last September, so we’re hoping for another great run and hopefully make it three in a row when we visit the Geary Woods this weekend.”Cassius Clark knows how to win at 660. Not quite a month ago he won the Best of the Best Pro Stock 150 here and Cassius also won the SpeedWeekend 250 in 2015 and 2012.
Clark sits alone in first place in the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Championship point standings with a 12 point advantage over Blenkhorn. Donald Chisholm, Craig Slaunwhite and Cole Butcher round out the top five. Sara McKay, from Quispamsis, is the top New Brunswicker on the tour sitting 14th in points.
Adult ticket prices for the Cummins 100 are $25; Youth tickets, for kids between 13 and 15 years of age are $15 and; admission is always free for fans twelve and under. Pit passes for fans 16 and over are $5,
Coming up on Saturday, July 9th, Speedway 660 will run its longest Street Stock race of the season. The DMR Auto Sales 75 will highlight action that will also include the Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stocks, Martin`s Home Heating Sportsman, and Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters.Things might get a little crazy when the DMR Auto Sales Street Stocks go 75 laps on July 9th. There will be lots of side-by-side racing and an occasional spin-a-rama, smoke-show or dust-up!
