ENDURO ACTION RETURNS TO SPEEDWAY 660 AFTER A DECADE!
(July 28th, 2023) – It’s been nearly a decade since the last Enduro race was held at Speedway 660 – but that all changes on Sunday afternoon.
The Enduro 200 will be held on Sunday July 30th, 2023 starting at 2pm! It’s been highly anticipated for Enduros to return to the Speedway, with many veteran drivers prepping cars to make their Enduro comeback. A quality field is preparing to battle for 200 laps and shake the rust off in advance of a big Enduro 300 in September!
The Enduro will be split up into three segments – the first two being 75 laps each, and the final segment featuring a 50-lap sprint to the finish. Drivers will be smashing their way to the front from start to finish, with the Enduro placing plenty of emphasis on survival.
During the Enduro hiatus, several competitors have kept on track in various forms. Drivers such as Daniel Atyeo (#15) and Courtney Barton (#21) are no strangers to fans at Speedway 660 thanks in part to their success in stock car competition over the years, but these fan favorites got their start in Enduros years ago and are ready to come back. Barton will be driving the “cow car” – which is sure to be popular amongst fans.
Other drivers have kept active by smashing their way to success elsewhere – notably Corey Barton (#995) made the trek to Speedway Miramichi to compete in Demolition events – grabbing some checkered flags along the way.
It is sure to be a dynamic mix of young newcomers and veteran Enduro stars – with Sunday serving as an appetizer to prelude many more Enduros to come at Speedway 660.
The Enduro 200 is part of an action-packed double header weekend. Preluding the Enduro 200 is Christmas in July on Saturday night – featuring the C.B. Warrens Auto Care Sportsman 100, plus action in all Speedway 660 divisions. Racing kicks-off at 6:30pm Saturday.
