Peterbilt 250 Expected Entries Approaching 50!
Fredericton, NB – The Peterbilt 250 is only 9 years young and is looking to set a record for Pro Stock entries for the 2009 event. The event has grown in stature and prestige each and every year since its inception in 2001. The car count for the 250 has grown over the years also with the current record for car count was set in 2006 when 44 cars attempted to make the field.
“One of our original goals back in 2001 when we were planning the inaugural Peterbilt 250 was to build the event to attract 50 plus pro stock teams. This year’s expected entries list is telling us we could get there this year” said Speedway 660 co–owner Steve Burns. Interest on the Canadian has been steady this year with the addition of the Triple Crown presented by K&K Canada in conjunction with the CARQUEST Maritime Pro Stock Tour. There also been increased interest across the border from the Pro All Stars Series teams that were in attendance for the PASS 200 at Speedway 660 back in June.
“This is a special time of year in the Northeast for everyone in racing. To steal a line from my partner (Steve), You can’t create history, history creates itself. Our hat goes off to all the fans, staff, teams, sponsors and all involved in what has become an amazing weekend” said co-owner Chris Johnston.
