On Saturday night Speedway 660 fans were treated to their last race before the off weekend. We’ll be off on the August long holiday weekend, but back in action on the 9th with the Firecracker 150. We invite you to check out Michelle Roy’s photos from the Best of the Best 150 night of action.

Alexandra O’Blenis kicked off Speedway 660’s big night of racing by winning the first Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman heat.

Our big crowd watches Greg Fahey (#20) take the lead and go on to win the second Sportsman heat of the night.

Our first “dust-up” of the evening comes in the first DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock heat when Ryan Raynes (#94) visits the beach and Gary Wade (#49) keeps on truckin!

When the dust cleared Destiny Enkel grabbed the checkered flag. The “Port City Princess” did a nice job to earn the victory.

Heidi Cooper (#1) gets to the stripe first as Joe Barrieau waves the checkered flag in the second Street Stock heat.

Saturday night marked the first Pro Stock race for Alicia Mowat. The former Bando driver had a pretty good night and ended up in the top 15 in the Best of the Best 150. Welcome back to Speedway 660 Alicia! 

Brian Gillespie claims the first heat win in qualifying for the Best of the Best Pro Stock 150. There were 22 of the big cars on hand for this event!

Ben Rowe takes “Hurricane Hal O’Neal’s” machine to victory lane in the second Pro Stock heat.

Lonnie Sommerville, a two-time SpeedWeekend Pro Stock 250 champion, wins heat number three in his patented number 23.

Out come the checkers for Matt Rodgers (#42) who makes a last lap pass on Alexandra O’Blenis to win the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman dash.

Geoff Tugwell had a great car on Saturday night, flexing his muscles and winning the Street Stock dash. Good job Geoff, hope you saved a little for that fifty lap feature!

Paul Gahan gives this little guy a trip around Speedway 660 in our intermission Kid’s Club ride. He’s lookin pretty serious inside that big Pro Stock!

Alexandra O’Blenis sprints to the lead in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman feature, but look out because here comes Brent Roy (#16) and Andrew Rodgers!

Coming to the line, what a finish! Roy wins it, Rodgers is second and O’Blenis is third.

The crowd goes wild for Alexandra O’Blenis as she does her first-ever Sportsman feature podium interview! A heat win, 2nd in the dash and third in the feature – a great night’s work for this teenager from Boundary Creek.

Andrew Rodgers wants to win every time he straps into the 14. But second place in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman feature is a pretty good run.

At 24 we still call him the “Camry Kid” but Brent Roy is feeling the pressure from the teenagers in our Sportsman Division. On this night though Brent was able to get the upper hand and take the 16JG to the Riverview Ford Victory Lane.

Lights – Camera – Action! Destiny Enkel (#52) has the lead but she’s being challenged by this group of fast Street Stock drivers at Speedway 660. 

Geoff Tugwell followed up his win in the dash with a victory in the DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock 50. Nice job guys!

Roger Slocum waves to the crowd after coming home second in the Street Stock 50. Roger and Geoff waged a battle, but when all was said and done Roger was pretty pleased to finish a close second.

Justin Cole is tired but happy during his podium interview. The young fella from Harvey made a late race charge to finish in third place. He sure made things exciting and had this race been 55 laps instead of 50, Justin just might have won it!

Ben Rowe was good on the long runs and the 8 car was great on the inside. Ben ran up front most of the night.

Things are getting pretty tight out here! Lonnie Sommerville tries to get around Ben Rowe as Dave O’Blenis and Big Kevin Moore (#88) look for an opportunity to make a move.

With less than twenty to go these two dudes are battling for the win, but a couple of laps later they made just enough contact to spin each other out and  bring out a Service Master Clean Caution.

And that spin out was just what the doctor ordered for Dave O’Blenis who sprinted into the lead.

For the second year in a row and the fourth time in his illustrious racing career Dave O’Blenis wins the Best of the Best Pro Stock 150. But more important, he’s earned a guaranteed starting position on the grid for the Pro Stock 250 on SpeedWeekend.

Kevin Moore hung around with the leaders all night and was happy to capture second place in the Best of the Best 150. Big Kevin gave his crew credit for giving him a great car on this night.

Chris Duncan struggled for much of the night. He was in and out of the pits several times, during cautions, to make adjustments. His hard working crew got it all figured out on their last stop and Chris stormed to a third place finish.

Dave O’Blenis, Kevin Moore and Chris Duncan all had something to smile about on Saturday night! The three Speedway 660 weekly Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock drivers topped the field of 22 cars to end up on the podium. Great job guys!
