The Waterfront Pub to Present the Best of the Best 150
(FREDERICTON, NB – MAY 25, 2022) – Speedway 660 is thrilled to announce a new sponsorship partner, which has teamed up to raise the stakes (and the purse!) for one of the most hotly contested events on the calendar! Popular local eatery The Waterfront Pub has signed on to be the presenting sponsor of the Pro Stock Best of the Best 150 on Saturday July 16th.
Located in Nackawic, New Brunswick, The Waterfront Pub is considered to be “the best of the best” and is a popular establishment amongst race fans and teams. This makes it a perfect fit for The Waterfront Pub to claim the naming rights to the Pro Stock Best of the Best 150 event. Long-time supporters of the sport of racing, the team at The Waterfront Pub are doubling down on their commitment to the sport through this new partnership.
The Best of the Best 150 is a race that is always circled on many calendars. Often hailed as an opportunity to shake down before the prestigious Pro Stock 250, the longstanding extended distance Pro Stock race is a favorite amongst competitors and fans alike. Ashton Tucker is the two-time reigning champion of the event, claiming the victory in back-to-back seasons in 2020 and 2021.
Not only is this partnership important for the sport, but it also proves to be important for race teams too.
With the added sponsorship from The Waterfront Pub, Pro Stock teams can expect a larger payout when they cash out following 150 laps of competition! While a cool $2,500 will be awarded to the winner, bonus money from this sponsorship is being dispersed throughout the field – meaning teams finishing down the running order will see a bump to their cheque too. In total, over $8,000 dollars has been added to the purse up for grabs to assist teams in covering some of the costs associated with competing. Speedway 660 and The Waterfront Pub are striving to work together to try and aid race teams financially.
“We’re extremely fortunate to have amazing partners like Andy Fox and The Waterfront Pub help us out this season” said Brent Roy of Speedway 660. “Andy has seen every aspect of what it takes to run a race team, and he’s been very influential to help us achieve our goals.”
Race fans can expect to be treated to a full slate of stock car racing as the sun sets over the Geary Woods, with three classes playing support for The Waterfront Pub Best of the Best 150. Championship points racing will be contested for two Speedway 660 house classes – the Late Model Sportsman and Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter divisions. In addition, a pre-SpeedWeekend tune-up will be held for the young stars of the regional Bandolero division, which will run a mid-season showcase at the 1/3-mile oval.
The magic won’t be limited to on-track action – the July 16th event at Speedway 660 will also feature the popular “Christmas in July” theme! A highlight of the season at Speedway 660, kids and families will be lucky enough to have a summer visit with Santa Claus, as he trades in his sleigh for a race car! Christmas spirit will be in the air, with activities including campground decorating being part of the festivities.
