Thanks for an Awesome Season!

Last Updated: September 6, 2014By

The 2014 racing season at Speedway 660 is history. It was a great year in the Geary Woods and fans were treated to incredible racing and made memories that will last a lifetime. As the gates close for another season at Speedway 660, the Foley & Roy families thank everyone for making 2014 a year to remember.

Weather impacts stock car racing and in 2014 weather certainly was a factor. We lost a couple of events, early in the season, and on SpeedWeekend weather once again forced us to adjust our schedule.

But through it all we saw some great racing including the 2014 Re/Max 250. It was one of the best races of all-time at Speedway 660. Fans came back Monday morning, after we had to postpone the race Sunday night, to be treated to an incredible show.

There were many highlights this season including Andrew Rodger’s $3000 win in the Martin’s Home Heating 100; the incredible season by Team O’Blenis including Dave’s historic 3rd straight Pro Stock championship; Johnny Clark’s PASS win; Shawn Turple’s exciting MPST victory; Cole Boudreau’s phenomenal rookie season in Pro Stock; the three-way battle for Rookie of the Year in Sportsman and;  a SpeedWeekend for the ages!

We want to thank all of the drivers, their crews, families and friends for making 2014 a great year in the Geary Woods. The drivers put on the show, but they have a lot of folks behind them making it possible for them to entertain us every week during the racing season.

Our marketing partners and the sponsors of the race teams also deserve our gratitude. From multi-national companies to local corner convenience stores, these businesses are dedicated to our sport. We appreciate their investment of marketing and advertising budgets in our sport and believe they get great value and return on those investments.

We also want to thank all of Speedway 660’s dedicated volunteers and staff. They do a great job every week and we are inspired by their commitment to racing. It would be impossible for us to run the race track without this team of incredible people.

And most of all, we want to let all of the racing fans know just how much we appreciate their continued support. Speedway 660 is the envy of every other race track in our region and it’s because of our fantastic fan support. We’ve got a great on-track product – we’ve got fans who are passionate about racing and that combination is unbeatable.

Thanks to everyone for making 2014 a year to remember. We’re going to take the lessons we’ve learned, during the two years we’ve owned Speedway 660, to develop a long-term plan for the growth of racing in our area.

660_4956Fan support drives our sport! Speedway 660 appreciates the fans who come out to the Geary Woods to see our exciting brand of short-track racing.
