Stretch run begins at Speedway 660

(Aug. 6, 2015) Racing resumes at Speedway 660 this Saturday night at 6:30 with the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter 40. After taking the New Brunswick Day Holiday Weekend off, fans and race teams are anxious to return to the Geary Woods for a busy month of action.

“The Sharp Shooter 40 is going to be exciting because these little four cylinder, front-wheel drive cars usually race a 15 lap feature and the extra 25 laps will put a lot of pressure on the drivers and their machines” said Speedway 660’s Max Roy. “This is our fastest growing division and we’re used to seeing 20 plus Sharp Shooters every week, so this will be a fun race to watch.”Sharp Shooter 50 lap action 2015There’s always more than a little contact when our Sharp Shooters take to the track. Their 40 lapper on Saturday night will be one of the highlights of the season for fans of this mighty little division!

Fans will also see championship point racing in the Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock, Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman, DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock and West Wood Estates Bandolero divisions. It is guaranteed to be another great evening of racing at Speedway 660.

“The Sharp Shooter 40 kicks off a busy month of racing for us and we’ll have lots of great entertainment for our fans every weekend until we wrap up the season in early September” said Roy. “After this weekend we’ve got some pretty big events scheduled for our stretch run including: the Sportsman Firecracker 150, Fan Appreciation Night, the Night of Champions and the Irving Blending and Packaging SpeedWeekend.”Travis Benjamin 2015 250 winnerTravis Benjamin won his very first Pro Stock 250 at Speedway 660 last year. Folks are starting to get excited about this year’s Irving Blending and Packaging SpeedWeekend which runs from September 4th to 7th in the Geary Woods!

Ticket prices for Saturday’s Sharp Shooter 40 are $14; Youth tickets, for kids between eight and 16, are $10 and; Family Passes for two adults and two youths are $38. Admission is always free for fans seven and under.

Speedway 660 is one of Canada’s premier stock car racing facilities. Located in New Brunswick’s Fredericton region, it attracts race teams and fans from the Maritimes, New England and Quebec.
