SpeedWeekend Update: Contingency Awards keep rolling in!

(Aug. 25, 2017) SpeedWeekend is a week away and race teams and fans are getting ready to descend on Speedway 660 in Geary, New Brunswick. The richest weekend of stock car racing in Atlantic Canada has a purse of more than $110,000. More contingency awards are being added and new marketing partners are stepping up to be a part of SpeedWeekend 2017.

 

The McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250 is the highest paying pro stock race in Atlantic Canada. With a guaranteed $15,000 for the winner and $50 per lap bonus for the leaders, the cash adds up quickly. Modern Electric has just added a $1000 Halfway Challenge Award and last week Riverview Ford announced an $500 Hard Charger Award.Pro Stock 250 action 2014Who-ever crosses the stripe first to lead lap 125, in the McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250, will win the Modern Electric $1000 Half Way Challenge Award.

Contingency Awards also continue to pour in for the Martin’s Home Heating 150. The biggest Sportsman race of the season pays $5000 to the winner. Dana’s Collision Center has just announced an $800 Dash for Cash to be awarded to the leader of lap 80; Phil-Ko Plastics & Glass has added a $300 award for the top Nova Scotia finisher and; the Glyn Nott Sr. Hard Charger Award is currently $200.660_5940With $5000 for the winner and additional contingency awards, the Martin’s Home Heating 150 will attract a large field of cars and provide the large SpeedWeekend crowds with exceptional entertainment.

In other news, Fredericton Mitsubishi has come on board to sponsor the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter feature on SpeedWeekend. The company currently is running a contest to give away an all inclusive trip for four to Disneyland. One lucky SpeedWeekend fan will qualify for a chance to win the trip.
