Speedway 660 Awards Banquet! Celebrating 2011 and Looking Forward to an Awesome 2012 Season!

FREDERICTON: Saturday night at the Fredericton Inn Speedway 660 held its annual Awards banquet to honor the champions and award winners from the past season.  A crowd of over 350 on hand to see the 2011 hardware rolled out.  This event is always a great cap off to the previous season and a kick off for the upcoming season.

The big winners in 2011 were division champions Greg Fahey, Ken Mackenzie, Rick Cashol, Tyler Seveck, Dana Hamm and Pat Sharpe.

This years Hughie Yorke Dedication to the Sport award was presented to the staff of Speedway 660.  A testimate to the great events hosted at Speedway 660.  These events couldn’t be realized without the great staff.

In addition the Phil Cox Ironman Award was presented to Willard Gillespie.  Willard is the father of Brian Gillespie who is currently competing in the Oleary Auto Group Pro Stock Division.  Willard has been and integral part of Gillespie long storied history at Speedway 660.

A sneak peak of the 2012 tentative schedule was released Saturday night with the major events that make up a great summer of racing.  Returning again in 2012 is a stop on the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) out of New England.  PASS will be running a 200 lap event on June 9th.  Speedway 660 will also see a stop on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Schedule with a 100 lap event on July 7th.

Several successful changes of recent years will continue in 2011 including the 7pm start times, Sunday Enduros as well as ending the season the 11th Annual SPEEDWEEKEND celebration on Labour Day Weekend.

Atlantic Canada’s biggest motor sports event will continue to grow in 2012 with the 12th annual storied Auto Value 250. Fans can look forward to an even bigger event for this year’s Labour Day Sunday.

The entire 2012 schedule is expected to be released in March in conjunction with more exciting news.
