(Sept. 7, 2015) Pat Sharpe raced his way into the Speedway 660 record books on Irving Blending & Packaging SpeedWeekend Monday. Sharpe’s five Speedway 660 championships in one division match Rick Cashol in Street stock, Brian Gillespie in Sportsman and Dave O’Blenis in Pro Stock.

“To join Dave, Rick and Brian as the only five time champions, in one division, is pretty cool, but my favourite NASCAR driver is Jeff Gordon and to top his four titles is pretty special” said Sharpe from the Riverview Ford Victory Lane. “The boys from Woodstock, who are crew members on this team, are the ones who deserve the credit, not only for winning this race but this championship.”
Jesse Madore, who won the first Capital City Auto Parts ENDURO 200 earlier this season, was actually leading the race before the rear-end gave up on his car with 20 laps to go. Madore, who was five laps ahead of Sharpe at the time and several laps up on all of the other cars, actually finished the race third. Luke Dukeshire and Karl Schaffer, who shared the driving duties on the 00 were second. Jacob Logan led the first two segments of the race before pitting for good late in the race.
Richard Savoie won the $200 bonus for spinning the most cars in the final segment of the race. Earlier in the race a young race fan told the crowd he would offer a $10 “bounty” to the driver who forced race leader Jacob Logan to go to the pits. From there several other kids added to the pot and Richard Savoie claimed the cash when he spun Logan out and flattened a tire on the 37 and sending him to the pits! Here are the kids who got the ENDURO crowds fired up on Monday afternoon. They pooled their money to offer a “bounty” for the driver who could send Jacob Logan to the pits! Richard Savoie cashed in and claimed the bounty!
“These kids are awesome and I thought it was kind of cool of them to offer up a bounty to force Jacob off the track” said Savoie. “It was all in good fun and all of us ENDURO drivers are out to have a great time and these kids obviously had a great time too.”
The Capital City Auto Parts ENDURO 200 not only wrapped up Irving Blending & Packaging SpeedWeekend, it also dropped the curtain on the 2015 racing season at Speedway 660. Racing will return to the Geary Woods in May of 2016.
