Pro Stock Tour Special Edition
(June 27, 2017) The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is coming to Speedway 660 for Canada Day. The Cummins 150 will be one of the highlights of the season in the Geary Woods and everyone is excited to see the tour come to town. We thought we would take a quick look at what the tour has been up to in 2017, prior to the big race this weekend.
The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour started the 2017 season at it’s home base near Halifax. Shawn Turple, from Enfield Nova Scotia, won the Lucas Oil 150 at Scotia SpeedWorld. Turple won the race ahead of 2016 champion Cole Butcher for his first tour win since 2014. Dylan Blenkorn was third, while Dylan Gosbee and Jarrett Butcher rounded out the top five.
Turple led 130 laps winning the Linde Most Laps Led Award. The Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races were won by Blenkhorn, five-time series champion John Flemming and Exide Batteries Rookie Contender Nicholas Naugle. The Lucas Oil 150 featured 10 cautions and took one hour, 20 minutes to complete. Race two of the 2017 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour was held in Riverglade at Petty International Raceway. Shawn Turple picked right up where he left off in the season opener by taking his second straight checkered flag. This time Turple battled from the back of the field after being involved in an incident on lap 105.
Turple grabbed the lead from Dylan Gosbee on the final lap during a Green-White-Checkered finish. Gosbee settled for second while Dylan Blenkhorn was third. Jonathan Hicken and Greg Proude completed the top five. Turple, Blenkhorn , Craig Slaunwhite and George Koszkulics won the Atlantic Tiltload Qualifying heat races.
There were five different leaders and 14 cautions in the 150 lap race. Slaunwhite, who led 57 laps took home the Linde Most Laps Led Award. There were four New Brunswickers in the 26 car field. Devin Snell (Saint John) finished 17th, Craig Ward (Riverview) was 20th, Shannon Squires (Saint John) was 24th and Mike Kyle (Sussex) finished 26th. Round three of the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour went to Dylan Blenkhorn. The Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150, at Riverside International Speedway, was Blenkhorn’s tenth tour victory. Turple had another great race finishing second just ahead of Cole Butcher. Greg Proude and Josh Collins rounded out the top five.
Dylan Gosbee, Collins and Donald Chisholm won the Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races. Blenkhorn picked up the Linde Most Laps Led Award by leading 83 of the 150 laps. Devin Snell was the only New Brunswick entry and he finished last in the 24 car field. Last weekend, the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour was back in Halifax for round number four. Just like us they were rained out on Saturday, but unlike us they had a rain date on Sunday. Cassius Clark, no stranger to fans here, led the final six laps getting the better of Dylan Blenkhorn to pick up his first Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour of the season.
Clark, winner of two McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250’s at Speedway 660, started sixth in Sunday’s Nova Truck Centres Make A Wish 150. Blenkhorn and Craig Slaunwhite joined Clark on the podium with Cole Butcher and Dylan Gosbee completing the top five.

One year ago Greg Proude had his first ever win at Speedway 660 and first Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour win since 2010. Proude held off Cassius Clark to win round five of the 12 race Maritime Tour.
