Mitsubishi Ladies’ Night and Dent Daddy Street Stock 75!

Last Updated: August 14, 2009By

Fredericton, NB -This weekend is another double header weekend featuring the Fredericton Mitsubishi Ladies Night and the Front Wheel Drive Enduro 200. Fans will get to see lots of racing again this weekend. With a few races canceled due to Mother Nature, we are now full speed ahead until SPEEDWEEKEND.

This Saturday night under the lights there will be the Dent Daddy Street Stock 75, regular points racing with heats, dashes and features in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman, Irving Lubricants Pro Stocks and well as the 4 cylinders making their debut. This will be the first big race for the Street Stocks, as they will get a chance to strut their stuff in a long race. You never know fans; maybe you will see the bright orange #04 car of Smokin’ Joe Albert.  Joe has been semi retired from racing and like any other driver still has it is in his blood.  Smokin’ Joe is one the most popular drivers at Speedway 660 and fans enjoy seeing him out. No doubt he will be at the track trying to win another race. He will have some strong competition as each and every week the Street Stocks are more and more competitive. Points Leader Brian Fox might have something to say about who is going to win the race. There was a first time feature winner last week when Charles Gaddess took his car to the Auto Pride victory lane. It will be one of those races that you won’t want to miss.

The weeks are winding down for the points and it is time to get serious. Michael Banks is the point’s leader in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman division and he is hungry for his first championship. He has been close in previous years and hoping this is the year he can bring home a championship. Glyn Nott might also have something to say about this, as he wants that championship as well.  Wade Harris and John Rankin and Derek Christie are all right there knocking on the door. There are only 18 points separating the top 5. This division is very competitive as we can see from the points and no doubt it will come right down to the wire to find out who will be the champion.

The Irving Lubricant’s Pro Stock division has been off for a few weeks and is ready to come back and fight for the point’s battle.  Defending Champ Greg Fahey is on top of the point’s chart once again and there are only 4 points between him and second place Kevin Moore and 6 points away is Glenn Rasmussen.  All of these drivers have had a pretty good season so far and the next couple weeks they will be working hard to gain points and move up in the standings.

The 4 cylinders will be making their debut to Speedway 660 this Saturday night. They were supposed to be at the track on a previous date until Mother Nature stepped in.

Last but not least Fredericton Mitsubishi Ladies night has come. Unfortunately there will not be a Powder Puff race for the ladies this year, but ladies get to the track early, as there will be something special for the first 100 ladies to enter the Speedway.

Sunday August 16th will be the Enduro 200 for front wheel drive cars only. This is something new that the track is hoping will bring in more Enduro cars. If you want to register your car, please call the speedway office at 454-RACE (7223) or e-mail at [email protected].

This is will be a fun filled weekend. So don’t miss it. It will be WicKID family fun.
