MHH 100 is on today at 2PM!

(June 17, 2017) The Martins Home Heating 100, one of the season’s most prestigious Sportsman races, is on this afternoon at  2PM. It’s the first of three major sportsman races at Speedway 660. 

 

“I’ve been at this game for a long time and have come close to winning the Martin’s Home Heating 100 a couple of times and would like to finally get it done on Saturday night” said veteran Sportsman driver Richard Atkinson. “Matt Matheson, our new crew-chief, has been a big addition to our team in 2017 and after a couple of good runs early this season we feel like we’ve got a good shot come Saturday night.”Richard Atkinson 2nd Sportsman feature May 28, 2017Richard Atkinson finished second in the Martin’s Home Heating 40 lap feature on May 28th. Richard feels confident heading into this weekend’s 100 lap race and expects to be a contender. 

The Martins Home Heating Sportsman Division at Speedway 660 has a strong roster of drivers which includes many seasoned veterans and several sensational young guns. But they won’t be the only ones chasing first place prize money in the Martins Home Heating 100. Visiting drivers, from around the region, are also expected to show up for the big race in competitive sportsman cars.

“The Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman 100 is always a highlight of the season and after winning the feature last week, we feel like we have as good a chance as anyone of rolling into victory lane on Saturday night” said John Rankin. “The first major Sportsman race of the season is always an opportunity to see how you stack up against some of the best drivers in our region and we look forward to facing that strong competition.” John Rankin Sportsman feature win June 10, 2017Fresh off a feature victory last Saturday night, John Rankin likes his chances in the Martin’s Home Heating 100. 

The Martins Home Heating Sportsman 100 is the first of three major Sportsman races at Speedway 660 this season. On July 22nd fans will see the  Firecracker 150 with another 150 lap race scheduled for SpeedWeekend. In addition to the big Sportsman race this weekend, fans will be treated to action in the Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock and DMR Auto Sales Street Stock divisions.

Adult ticket prices are $20; Youth tickets, for kids between 13 and 15 are $10; Pit Passes are $5 and; admission is always free for Speedway 660’s youngest race fans, 12 and under.

The Martins Home Heating Sportsman 100 is now scheduled for Sunday at 2PM.

Speedway 660 is one of Canada’s premier stock car racing facilities. Located in New Brunswick’s Fredericton region, it attracts race teams and fans from the Maritimes, Maine and Quebec. The Speedway 660 racing season runs from mid May until Labour Day Weekend. SpeedWeekend, one of the most prestigious short track events in eastern North America, is always a fitting way to wrap up Speedway 660’s racing season.
