Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman 100 – $2000 to Win!

Last Updated: June 21, 2011By

Fredericton N.B. – This weekend Speedway 660 will welcome some of the best sportsman cars in Atlantic Canada as they prepare for the highly anticipated Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman 100.

Michael Banks of Lake George will be looking to win the 100 lapper in back-to-back seasons, while Ken MacKenzie of Salisbury and Glyn Nott of Burton will aim to take the title after finishing second and third in 2010. All three drivers currently sit atop the 2011 Martins Home Heating Sportsman division point’s standings.

No other drivers are to be taken lightly though as this is one of the tightest divisions Speedway 660 sees year in and year out, not to mention the tough competition coming from throughout the region. Dave O’Blenis of Boundary Creek will also be behind the wheel for the first time this season to try his luck in the 100 lap feature.

Upping the ante, Richard and Ann Martin are offering $1000 extra on top of our purse to the winner and $500 for second and $500 for third, which should give some added incentive to finish in the top three.

After being rained out last weekend the Hanwell Village Mart Bandolero, 4 Cylinder, RV World Street Stock, and the O’Leary Auto Group Pro Stock divisions will all be back to regular points racing, running their weekly features with the Sportsman 100 main event ending the evening.

Another great event is in waiting to happen so come on out to the Geary Woods this weekend and check out Speedway 660 for some WicKID Family Fun!
