It’s Fan Appreciation Night of Champions at Speedway 660
Saturday will be one of the most exciting and entertaining nights of the 2012 season at Speedway 660. The annual Fan Appreciation Night of Champions kicks off at 5:30PM with every car, in all five racing divisions, parked on the front stretch. Drivers and crews will be there too for the popular autograph session. Racing begins at 7PM and championships will be awarded after every feature race.
“The Fan Appreciation Night of Champions is a hit with our fans because they get to go out on the track before the races to get autographs, take photos and talk to the drivers” said Speedway 660’s Steve Burns. “Then we get down to the serious business of seeing who will race their way to our five divisional championships.”
Fan Appreciation Night of Champions is always an exciting event at Speedway 660. An on-track autograph session, prize draws for fans and championships, awarded in all five racing divisions, make this Saturday one of the most entertaining nights of the racing season. The autograph session begins at 5:30 and racing gets underway at 7PM
Heading into the final points event, the fiercest championship rivalry has Rick Cashol clinging to a nine point advantage over Shannon Brake. The defending champ is gunning for his 6th RV World Street Stock title in eight years, but Shannon “The Cannon” is determined to put the Brakes on the Cashol celebration. Randy Moore leads the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman division, but Richard Atkinson is only 13 points behind, Brent Roy trails by 14 and Glyn Nott needs to make up 17 points to claim the title.
Cole Boudreau leads the Hanwell Village Mart Bandolero division by 13 over Drew Greenlaw and 18 over Cole Tanner. Dave O’Blenis has a comfortable 27 point advantage over Kevin Moore in the A.L. Gullison Disaster Kleenup Pro Stock Division and Luc McLaughlin has opened up a 22 point lead over T.J. Madore in the Fredericton Jewellers Four cylinder division.
“There are always a few surprises during our Fan Appreciation Night of Champions and sometimes point leaders falter while other drivers have a great run to claim a championship” said Burns. “Saturday night will see intense racing in all five divisions and drivers will be going all out to try to win a championship or gain a position or two in the standings.”
In addition to autographs, rivalries and championships, fans will also leave Speedway 660 on Saturday night with some great prizes. Corporate sponsors, race team sponsors and other businesses have provided lots of products and services for fans to win.
