On Saturday Speedway 660 hosts the 2013 edition of RE/MAX Kids Night! This event is very popular with all young race fans and gives them a chance to see the race cars and meet their local heroes.

During this year’s Kids Night, one of our race teams will be racing for a very special little girl. Hailey Fitzgerald is a young Fredericton girl who has been diagnosed with Metachromatic Leukodystophy (MLD), a terminal illness. Haileysdreams.org was set up to make Hailey’s remaining few years with us the best they can be.

The #26 Service Master Clean Toyota Camry will be running special colours this weekend.  Instead of the usual white with yellow and teal trim that has fans have grown accustomed to seeing on the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman division car, the team will instead be throwing a couple coats of blue paint on the hood and topping it off with a dash of yellow.

The “Camry Kid” will be racing for Hailey Fitzgerald on Saturday night
at Speedway 660.

“The whole team is very excited about this Saturday’s RE/MAX Kids Night” said Brent Roy, driver of the number 26. “Hailey and her family are huge race fans and we feel honored that Hailey will be at the track this Saturday, to experience RE/MAX Kids Night.  Our entire race team want to make this a very memorable visit to the Speedway for her.”

Roy, better known as “The Camry Kid”, met the family through his sister Michelle Roy who is one of his supporting sponsors. “After finding out about Hailey’s Dreams, I wanted to do something and as soon as we told our major sponsor Service Master, they were 100 percent on board” Brent said . “Not only are we flying the colors for the foundation on Saturday, but all of our race winnings this week will be going to Hailey and her family.”

RE/MAX Kids Night is a chance for the kids to get autographs from their favourite drivers. During a pre-race visit to the pits, which begin at 5;30PM, kids will be asked to sign the special hood of the #26 Camry, for Hailey and the Foundation.

“We’re going to have a special hood on the car this week for sweet Hailey, and we will be giving the kids markers to sign their names on it” explained The Camry Kid.
