Last Updated: August 16, 2022By

New Brunswick’s biggest motorsports weekend will be coming to fans worldwide this Labour Day weekend – Speedweekend is coming to FloRacing!

A new partnership being announced between Speedway 660 and FloRacing will see the marquee event at the Geary, New Brunswick 1/3-mile oval come to the living room of fans! The multi-year agreement sees Speedway 660’s SpeedWeekend – anchored by the annual Pro Stock 250 – being streamed through FloRacing’s world class digital platform alongside some of the most recognizable asphalt and dirt tracks and some of the most prestigious motorsport’s events contested globally.

FloRacing – a division of FloSports – is one of the leading and fastest growing sports platforms in North America. The new agreement will see all three days of SpeedWeekend live streamed for each of the next three seasons. SpeedWeekend, which started in 2001, will write it’s 22nd chapter this year as race teams from all over Atlantic Canada and New England will descend upon the Geary Woods for battle.

With this announcement, Speedway 660 will become the first motorsports venue of the three Maritimes provinces to partner will FloRacing, a move expected to bring the most anticipated weekend of the summer to the next level.

Center stage for SpeedWeekend is the cars and stars of the Speedway 660 Pro Stock division racing in the 22nd annual Pro Stock 250. Competitors and teams will compete for their share of the over $100,000 dollar weekend prize purse! Over two dozen competitors are anticipated to battle for one of the biggest paydays in the region. Cory Hall walked away with nearly $25,000 for his efforts when he scored the biggest victory of his career in 2021.

This running of the Pro Stock 250 will have elevated stakes – new for this year, the “Provincial Challenge” will be in effect. The Provincial Challenge features a $500-dollar additional bonus available to the top finishing car from each Maritime province and also to the top finishing American competitor. Fans will be able to recognize these cars signaled by their appropriate flags on each car’s rear spoiler.

As if that wasn’t enough, long-time racing supporters C.B. Warren’s Auto Care have stepped up to help teams as well – with the donation of two $250 gas cards, which will be available for any Pro Stock competitors finishing outside the top ten, determined by a random draw of those eligible.

But wait there’s more! Modern Electric have signed back with Speedway 660. And will be offering a $1000 Halfway bonus for the Pro Stock 250, and a $500 bonus for the halfway bonus of the Riverview Ford Lincoln sportsman 150.

Speedway 660 is still also seeking partners to come on board to help promote and extend contingencies to our drivers and teams.

The three-day motorsports spectacle features more than just the Pro Stock 250 – a total of thirteen features from nine divisions will be contested and it all kicks off Friday night with the SpeedWeekend Prelude! The Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter division along with the regional Atlantic Modified Tour will be spotlighted as they fire up the weekend. The night doesn’t stop there, after the final race of the night, the elite Pro Stock’s will take to the track for a one-hour happy hour session under the lights in preparation of Sunday’s Pro Stock 250. Day one festivities wrap up with the return of the popular Turn 5 Concert featuring the band Hazzard, open to fans aged 19 years of age and older!

Saturday night see’s a full card of action, headlined by the 21st running of the Riverview Ford Lincoln Late Model Sportsman 150! Alexandra O’Blenis is the defending winner of the Saturday Sportsman Spotlight event which is always a crowd pleaser. Being a major event for all classes, SpeedWeekend Saturday will also feature racing from the Passione Flooring & Interiors East Coast Mini Stock Tour, the Cross Roads Maritime League of Legends and part one of the annual Bandolero Blast for the regions youngest rising stars!

While the spotlight focuses on the Pro Stocks, SpeedWeekend Sunday features one of the most jam-packed shows of the year with seven divisions of racing on tap. One of the most entertaining races Sunday is the D. Gillespie & Sons Trucking Ltd. 100 for the ShurFit Automotive Bumper to Bumper Street Stock division. A $1000 grand prize is on the line for the winner of this race, which was coincidentally won by the 2022 Ricky Bobby 150 winner Michael Cormier. Competitors from all over Atlantic Canada have this one circled on their calendars.

Also revving fans up for the Pro Stock 250 will be the second races of the weekend for the Cross Roads Maritime League of Legends Tour, the Atlantic Modified Tour, the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter Division plus the regions youngest stars in the Bandolero division for the annual Bandolero Blast!
