EXCITING ENDURO 200 SET FOR SPEEDWAY 660 SATURDAY!

Last Updated: July 18, 2024By

(July 18th, 2024) – Speedway 660 roars to life Saturday July 20th with the thrills and spills of Enduro competition. A staple at the ⅓ mile oval for decades, Enduro action returned in 2023 after an eight year hiatus with much fanfare. Continuing to grow, the first show of the summer for these wild and crazy stars is sure to produce more heart pounding moments. Past Enduros have seen plenty of spins, big wrecks, and even some flips and fires to the delight of fans! Needless to say, expect the unexpected this weekend when action begins at 6:30pm for the Enduro.

It will be a 200-lap distance spectacle in what will truly be a duel of survival. The event will be split into three segments – with each of the first two segments being 75-laps apiece, which will set the stage for the final 50-lap showdown to the finish. Indications of upwards of over a dozen competitors will be ready to battle on Saturday.

Daniel Atyeo (#15) has been a star in the Enduro class over the years, and has been a big proponent of the division’s rebuild. A rookie competitor who is showing speed and strength with the Shur-Fit Automotive, Bumper to Bumper Street Stock division, Atyeo is a driver known for big moves and putting on a show when it comes to Enduro competition. He is one of the veterans of the class and sure to be a favorite to score the win.

The Barton’s are well known for their Enduro prowess – led by the winner of the first Enduro held one year ago in Corey Barton (#995). Corey was a standout at Speedway Miramichi in their Demolition class, but calls Speedway 660 home. At least years Enduro finale, Kim Barton (#11), Courtney Barton (#21) and Katie Barton (#998) all took to the track and proved the ladies can get up on the wheel and fight for wins.

Riley Frost (#10) was a competitor to watch after impressing in both Enduro shows last year. If Frost can survive the attrition of 200 laps without mechanical woes, a win may be on tap for him. However, anything can happen in these thrilling races. The lure of the unknown draws many drivers to compete, and one notable driver will be Jeffrey O’Donnell, a driver who has called the Woodstock Demolition Derby home for years. O’Donnell will look to build upon his resume in Enduro competition.

Action begins at 6:30pm on Saturday July 20th for the Enduro 200! Grandstands open at 5:30pm while pit gates open at 4:00pm. Grandstand tickets are just $20, and as always, kids fifteen (15) years of age and under are admitted free! Pit admission is $25, and please note that pit access is restricted to those aged sixteen (16) years of age and older, except for youth who are direct family members of a driver, who can enter the pits with proper signed waivers. All entrants to the pits must complete the e-waiver prior to entering the pits.
