Clark goes for the Three-Peat! Pro All Stars Series Hits Speedway 660 for 200 Laps!

Fredericton NB – Johnny Clark is no stranger to Speedway 660. The 33 year old Farmingdale, Maine short-track racer loves to visit the Geary Woods. On Saturday at 7PM Clark will attempt to win his third straight PASS 200 event at Speedway 660.

The defending Pro All Star Series champion heads a star-studded field of drivers who will make the tour’s only visit of the year to Atlantic Canada. In addition to his 2010 and 2011 PASS 200 wins, Clark has two SPEEDWEEKEND Auto Value 250 victories at Speedway 660.

“Johnny Clark loves this joint and our fans know he will race his heart out for them and do everything possible to win his third straight PASS 200 race here” says Speedway 660’s Chris Johnston. “But the six time PASS champion will have to be at his absolute best to hoist the trophy on Saturday night because the Pro All Star Series competition is unbelievably tough.”

Some of that tough competition will come from Ben Rowe, the 2009 Speedway 660 PASS 200 winner. Over his career, Rowe has been to the Pro All Star Series Victory Lane 34 times and will be looking for win number 35 on Saturday night. Lonnie Sommerville, 2nd in PASS points in 2011 and a two time Auto Value 250 champion, should also be extremely competitive on his home track.

“I love coming back home to race in front of the great fans at Speedway 660 and will try my best to see that the PASS 200 trophy stays in Canada” says Sommerville. “The PASS tour is so competitive with veterans like Johnny Clark and Ben Rowe as well as young guys like Joey Doiron, but we will dig deep and try to cross the stripe first on Saturday night.”

Doiron, the 2010 PASS Rookie of the Year, won his first ever Pro All Star Series race at the 2012 season opener at Maine’s Beech Ridge Speedway. Clark raced to victory at Star Speedway in New Hampshire and Cassius Clark took the checkers at White Mountain Motorsports Park which is also in New Hampshire.

Heading into this weekend’s event Doiron leads the PASS point parade, 12 up on D.J. Shaw. Sommerville sits third only two points behind Shaw while Travis Benjamin is fourth and Johnny Clark is fifth. Cassius Clark, Ben Rowe, Gary Smith, Alex Gingras and Derek Ramstrom round out the top ten in points.

Qualifying heats for the PASS 200 get underway at 7PM this Saturday night at Speedway 660. Race fans will also see action in the RV World Street Stock and Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman divisions.

Don’t miss it race fans. This weekend promises to be a very exciting weekend of racing. So come on out to the Geary Woods this weekend and check out Speedway 660 for some WicKID Family Fun!
