(MIRAMICHI, NB – June 22nd, 2022) – The Atlantic Modified Tour heads to Speedway 660 for the first time this season on Saturday, June 25th. The Northside Auto Parts 35 is Round Three of 11 on the 2022 point schedule and first of two point paying events at the Geary, New Brunswick oval. Racing begins on Saturday at 6:30pm.

The first two feature events of the season have gone the way of Team 2W and Chris Wilson of South Esk, New Brunswick. Wilson, who has run part-time on the Series in recent seasons, kicked off the year at Petty International Raceway with a win over Braxton Stafford (Miramichi, NB) in the Kamizo Transport 35. He followed it up the next week with a Sunday drive en route to the win in the Blackville Auto Value 35 at Speedway Miramichi. After a month off, Wilson will lead the field into Speedway 660, a track in which he is the most recent winner after taking home a win at SpeedWeekend 2021 last September. The question remains – will the allure of a point championship with the Atlantic Modified Tour keep the team tempted enough to run the full 2022 schedule?!

Albeit only two races in, a stumble by Stafford at Miramichi in the Blackville Auto Value 35 has him second in points but now 19 points out of the lead. A small logjam is starting to form behind him with Joe Hoyt (Waasis, NB) nine points behind him in third. Doug Matchett (Miramichi, NB) is fourth, two points behind Hoyt with Kevin Bailey (Minto, NB) completing the top five in the championship standings early in the season. Leading rookie Tristin Harris (Harvey, NB) and 2020 titlist Yves McCray (Neguac, NB) complete the drivers in the standings that have competed in both opening races so far.

For the sixth straight season, children aged 15 and under will be admitted to the grandstands for free to every stock car event at Speedway 660. The admission structure makes it easier for families to attend race events at the track and received positive feedback from fans when implemented mid-season in 2017.

Adult grandstand admission prices are $20 (aged 16 and up). Pit admission is $25 and is restricted to those 16 years of age and older. Tickets are available at the gate on race day. New in 2022, all those entering the pit gates must complete their insurance waiver online prior to heading to the track. This can be done on any smart phone and takes seconds to complete. The link to the form can be found on Speedway660.com under the “Race Team Information” menu or by going to Speedway660.speedwaiver.com. A complete race day format will be available via the track’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/Speedway660.
