A Sport in Mourning

The unthinkable happened at a Maritime short-track this weekend. By now most of you have heard the shocking news that Mike Stevens, from Riverview, died in the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock race at Oyster Bed Speedway on Prince Edward Island on Saturday night.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Stevens family from everyone here at Speedway 660. Mike was well known here because he raced in our Pro Stock Division, before moving on to the Maritime Tour. Since then he came back to visit us at least twice a year, once for the annual tour race and then for the Auto Value 250 on SpeedWeekend.

Mike Stevens was a likeable young man. He was a good driver and always had very good equipment. He competed hard and always ran pretty good here at Speedway 660. It’s hard to believe he’s gone and our thoughts and prayers, at this very trying time, go out to Mike’s immediate family, his race team, everyone from the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and the Maritime racing community. May he Rest in Peace.
