2017 Schedule Released – Save the Dates!

(Geary, NB – March 6th, 2017) – The management of Speedway 660 is excited to unveil their 2017 schedule of events. The fast 1/3-mile stock car oval will see a total of 15 action packed racing cards produced between May and September. The events will see hundreds of drivers racing towards the ultimate goal of parking their car in Riverview Ford Lincoln Victory Lane. The 2017 season marks the 24th consecutive year of racing at the Geary, New Brunswick track.

Speedway 660 will be the first race track in Atlantic Canada to contest a stock car event in 2017 with the Riverview Ford Lincoln Season Opener slated for Sunday, May 14th at 2pm. An open practice and pre-technical inspection day for teams will take place on Saturday, May 13th. The busy month of May will close with two full point racing programs, including the popular Kids Day on Sunday, May 21st.

Sunday, May 28th will see the return of the Bandolero division with the Tim’s Corner Motorsports Spring Shootout. Fans will be treated to a 20-lap feature by the drivers aged eight to 16 years with the winner of the event receiving the pole for the Tim’s Corner Motorsports Bandolero Blast on Sunday, September 3rd.

The Pro All Stars Series makes their highly anticipated return to the Geary woods on Saturday, June 3rd with a 200-lap feature. The race is a part of “the Road to the Oxford 250” and will see six drivers lock themselves in to the marquee event in Oxford, Maine. Those Oxford 250 provisionals will go to the top three drivers from the United States and the top three drivers from Canada in the Pro All Stars Series 200.

The Pro All Stars Series 200 marks the shift to Saturday evening racing at Speedway 660 for 2017. All races from June to August will have a 6:30pm start time. The track will see off-weekends on August 5th and August 26th, while a non-stock car related event to be announced soon will take place on Saturday, July 15th.

The Best of the Best Pro Stock 150 will see a date shift in 2017, moving from June to Saturday, July 29th. The winning driver in the event will receive a guaranteed starting spot in the 17th Annual Pro Stock 250 on Speedweekend. Cassius Clark of Farmington, Maine won the 2016 edition of the Best of the Best 150.

Sportsman teams will see two extended distance races during the regular season. The Martin’s Home Heating 100 will run on Saturday, June 17th with the action ramping up during the Firecracker 150 on July 22nd.

The DMR Auto Sales and Service Street Stocks will stretch their legs for 75-laps on July 8th. The Sharp Shooters have their chance to excite fans in an extended 50-lap feature on June 10th.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will celebrate Canada Day in Geary with a 150-lap extended distance race on July 1st. Greg Proude of Springvale made history in 2016 by becoming the first Prince Edward Island driver in the Tour era to win a sanctioned Maritime Pro Stock Tour race at Speedway 660.

The MJS Holdings Maritime Mini Stock Tour will swing by Speedway 660 twice in their inaugural season. The four cylinder Honda series will hold 50 lap races on Saturday, June 24th and Saturday, September 2nd.

Season point champions for the Pro Stock, Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman, DMR Auto Street Stock and Sharp Shooter divisions will be crowned on the annual Night of Champions on Saturday, August 19th.

The season caps off with Speedweekend 2017. Friday, September 1st will see the kick off concert, corn boil and bonfire in the infield. Saturday, September 2nd at 6:30pm will see the return of the Maritime League of Legends Tour along with the MJS Holdings Maritime Mini Stock Tour as the appetizer round for the Sportsman 150. Sunday, September 3rd at 2pm will see the Sharp Shooters, Street Stocks and TCM Bandolero Blast excite fans leading up to the 17th Annual Pro Stock 250. Berwick, Maine’s Joey Doiron scored the biggest payday of his young career with a win in the Pro Stock 250 last September.
