A 75 Lap Street Stock Spectacle!
“We love the longer races, because it gives us a chance to run hard and show the fans that our brand of racing can be as exciting as any other division” said Rob Raynes, a veteran Street Stock driver. “We often see longer Pro Stock and Sportsman races, so we’re really happy Speedway 660 has given us the opportunity to run a few longer races this season.”Over the past three seasons Robert Raynes has been one of Speedway 660’s most consistent Street Stock drivers. On Saturday night Rob hopes to earn another trip to the Riverview Ford Victory Lane.
Raynes won a caution-free 50 lap Street Stock race, earlier this season. Rookie sensation Courtney O’Blenis was second, while 2013 division champ Roger Slocum came home 3rd. A strong field of cars is expected to be on the starting grid on Saturday for the longest Street Stock race of the season.
“It’s been a big challenge moving from the Bando division into Street Stock, but I’m getting more comfortable in the car and more confident on the track every week” Courtney said. “We know Rob, Roger and many of the other Street Stock drivers have more experience, but we’re going to try to have our best finish of the year and hopefully take the 48 to the Riverview Ford Victory Lane on Saturday night.”Courtney O’Blenis has made lots of new fans this season in the Geary Woods. This Saturday night might just be a good time for this incredible teenager to win her first-ever Street Stock feature!
Race fans will also see action in the Re/Max Pro Stock, Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman, Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter and West Wood Estates Bandolero divisions. It is guaranteed to be another great evening of racing at Speedway 660.
Ticket prices for Saturday’s event are $14; Youth tickets, for kids between eight and 16, are $10 and; Family Passes for two adults and two youths are $38. Admission is always free for fans seven and under.
There is no rain date for this event. If the weather is unsettled on Saturday morning fans and race teams should call the race line at 506-454-7223 or visit www.speedway660.com for race day status updates. The DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock Division has a good mix of experienced veterans and enthusiastic young drivers. That will make Saturday’s 75 lapper one of the best races of the year!
