2013 Celebration of Champions
The Fredericton Motor Inn was once again the site of the Speedway 660 Awards Banquet. On Saturday night Jan 25th over 350 people gathered together to honor this years Champions and Specialty Award Winners. Almost 50 trophies and awards were handed out with the big winners being the Division Champions: Dave O’Blenis, Greg Fahey, Roger Slocum, Tyler Seveck, Drew Greenlaw, Chuck and Clifford Mercer. A highlight of this years event, which marks the beginning of a new tradition at Speedway 660, was the presentation of Speedway 660 Championship Jackets to all of the divisional winners.
The 2014 schedule was revealed and there was a very positive response from those in attendance when it was announced that the season will start 2 weeks earlier this year. The Riverview Lincoln Ford season opener will be on May 11th with a practice and pre-tech day on May 10th. Other highlights are the return of the Pro All Star Series (PASS) on June 7th and the Maritime Pro Stock Tour on July 5th. The Martins Home Heating Sportsman 100 and the Sportsman Firecracker 150 are both on the schedule for 2014 along with the Best of The Best Pro Stock 150. Something new for the Bandolero, Sharp Shooters & Street Stocks will be 1 race extended laps Feature where the winner will start on the Pole in their respective feature races on Speedweekend.
SpeedWeekend 2014, one of the largest and most exciting motorsport events in Eastern Canada, will once again be on Labor Day Weekend from Aug 29th to Sept 1st. Racers from Atlantic Canada and Eastern United States are expected to make the trip to Speedway 660 for the Auto Value 250.
