The Sunday Photo Album

Fans saw some awesome action at Speedway 660 last Saturday night. A rookie street stocker won his heat, dash and feature; the pro stock feature had an exciting finish; the sharp shooters had a wild & crazy night; the bandos were great and; one of our sportsman drivers finally earned a trip to victory lane! Check out our photo album of podium finishers.

Kenny Mackenzie Jr. (with the checkered flag) had a break-out night at Speedway 660. Junior won all three of his races in the DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock Division and appears to be following in the footsteps of Kenny Sr. (2nd from left) who is a two-time Sportsman champ and current RE/MAX Group Four Realty Pro Stock driver in the Geary Woods!

Justin Cole had a tremendous run in our street stock feature, challenging Kenny Jr. for the win. But the youngster from Harvey had to be satisfied with a second place finish, which brought out the smiles from his family and crew. Cole is another member of our amazing rookie class of 2013.

Luc MacLaughlin rounded out an all-rookie podium in the DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock Division on Saturday night. Luc, the 2012 Sharp Shooter champion, took back the lead in the street stock rookie of the year standings with a third place finish. Speedway 660′s rookie street stockers are starting to dominate this division and the veterans have got to be wondering if they’ll ever get back to the Riverview Ford Victory Lane!

Brent Roy finally found a way to get to the Riverview Ford Lincoln Victory Lane on Saturday night. The “Camry Kid” who settled for second place finishes in the Martins Home Heating 100 and the Firecracker 150 won the Sportsman feature in convincing fashion. Roy has his sights set on another strong run next weekend during our Fan Appreciation Night of Champions and at the Irving Blending & Packaging 150 on SpeedWeekend.

George Jamieson continued his strong season on Saturday night with another Martins Home Heating Sportsman podium finish. Jamieson came home second and dedicated Saturday night’s great run to his son who is out of the hospital and back home recovering after suffering serious injuries in a recent car accident and “Papa” Willard Gillespie who recently passed away. George, who is having one of his best seasons ever at Speedway 660 is looking forward to carrying the Dodge colours into SpeedWeekend.

Greg Fahey (6th from left) is making a strong bid to become the first driver to win championships in Speedway 660′s top three divisions. Fahey, the pride of Charlotte County, finished third in the Sportsman feature on Saturday night. Greg, who already has two street stock and three pro stock titles to his credit, needs another strong outing next Saturday at our Fan Appreciation Night of Champions to add the 2013 Martins Home Heating Sportsman championship trophy to his collection.

Dave O’Blenis is joined by his wife Corrie and daughters Courtney and Alexandra in the Riverview Ford Lincoln Victory Lane on Saturday night. But the RE/MAX Group Four Realty Pro Stock win didn’t come easy for the current point leader and defending champ. A couple of late Service Master Clean Cautions in the 40 lap feature created an exciting finish. Dave says he’s got a pretty good car, but he knows his race team will have to keep working hard to find a little more speed to get him back to victory lane at the Auto Value 250 on SpeedWeekend.

Paul Gahan made a pass coming out of turn four on the final lap to claim second place in the RE/MAX Group Four Realty Pro Stock feature. Gahan, who is dedicating all his winnings to the Bar None Camp for Kids in 2013, was happy with the run. Paul thanked his son Jordan for a great set-up on the 66 for Saturday night’s race. Jordan has parked his own pro stock car for the season because, he’s had to move out west for an incredible employment opportunity. Best of luck Jordan and we hope you can come back home to race with us in 2014!

Ben Rowe, from Turner, Maine finished third in the RE/MAX Group Four Realty Pro Stock feature on Saturday night. One of North America’s most famous short-track racers came up to Speedway 660 for a test-run in Hal O’Neal’s race car. Rowe, who has won hundreds of late model and pro stock races over the years, wants to take the 8 car to the Riverview Ford Lincoln Victory Lane in the Auto Value 250. Ben challenged Dave O’Blenis for the win on Saturday night, proving he will be contender in the big race on Speedweekend!

Craig MacDonald, drove the wheels off his little race car to win the West Wood Estate Apartments Bandolero feature on Saturday night. A dramatic last lap pass sealed the deal for this great kid from Waverley, Nova Scotia. Craig says he came up this past weekend to get some laps in at Speedway 660 to help him have a strong outing when he comes back for SpeedWeekend. Great run Craig, we’ll see you in a couple of weeks!

Courtney O’Blenis really wanted to make a trip to the Riverview Ford Lincoln Victory Lane on Saturday night. Courtney had another awesome run, bringing the 48 back to the podium in second place. Dave’s youngest daughter has really stepped up her racing program in 2013 and is one of Speedway 660′s brightest young stars.

It was a great night for kids from the Ocean Playground. Cole Tanner, from Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia was strong in the Bando feature coming home third. Many fans wonder how this tall, lanky kid fits into the small Bandolero machine. Cole says it takes a little “magic” to make that happen! We expect to see Cole move up to another racing division in the near future.

It was a wild and crazy night in the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter feature. Eventually, after the dust cleared and a car that landed on its roof was put back on its wheels, the feature winner turned out to be Malcolm Suley. Malcolm was pretty pleased to end up in the Riverview Ford Lincoln Victory Lane and really happy to be able to take his car home in one piece!

Jeremy Doran drove the wheels off his little Sharp Shooter to try to get the win on Saturday night. After making several attempts at passing the leader, Jeremy settled for a strong second place finish. Doran has turned into one of the top drivers in this fan-pleasing division.

Neil Miousse avoided the wrecks and drove to a third place finish in the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter feature. Neil had to be on his toes to get to the podium in one of the wildest races of the season at Speedway 660!
