Prestigious Ricky Bobby Street Stock 150 at Speedway 660 Saturday!

Last Updated: June 26, 2025By

(June 26th, 2025) – The time has come for the biggest, baddest, richest, and most prestigious Street Stock race of the year – the 7th Annual McCoy’s Auto Repair Ricky Bobby 150 at Speedway 660! A stout thirty-three (33) car field has signalled intent to compete, and will converge in the Geary Woods to battle for the winners share of the over $20,000 purse!

It’s one of the events everyone has marked on their calendars every single year. Racing in honour of the late Rick Arbeau – known affectionately as Ricky Bobby – drivers from four provinces and one American state will trek to Speedway 660 to try and claim Ricky Bobby 150 glory.

Everyone appears to be chasing three-time winner of the event, Michael Cormier (#68). Cormier is the reigning champion of the event, with his three triumphs coming in 2020, 2022, and 2024. Cormier has yet to take on Speedway 660 in 2025, but is always a favorite to claim victory.

Two other former race winners are slated to compete – those being inaugural winner Luc McLaughlin (#11) and 2023 victor Justin Cole (#38). Both are former champions of the Shur-Fit Automotive, Bumper to Bumper Street Stock division and want to reclaim a race that has meant so much for them to win.

While those three drivers have conquered the elusive Ricky Bobby 150 victory, there will be thirty more chasing the win for the first time. These included two-time and defending Shur-Fit Automotive, Bumper to Bumper Street Stock champion Riley Goodwin (#77), current points leader Dan Gillespie (#83), and a crop of drivers who have scored wins over the past two seasons including Ron Enkel (#52), Jonathan Hanley (#71), and most recently Kyle MacKinnon (#22).

Plenty of invaders are set to make their way to Speedway 660 to try and take glory back to their respective home tracks. Former Petty International Raceway champion Logan Power (#58), past R&R (Miramichi) Speedway champions Brad MacLean (#13) and Mark Kingston (#20), Prince Edward Island stars Brodie MacQuarrie (#28) – who is a former podium finisher in the race – Mike Duskey (#42) and Mitchell Arsenault (#51), and also Glen Cooke (#08) and Dan Webb (#07) who call Bud’s Speedway in Cape Breton home. Bimbo Look (#33) will represent the United States of America and will look to qualify after a heat race crash one year ago.

That just scratches the surface of the field ready to do battle – could we see a first time winner from the likes of Karl Schaefer (#00), Jimmy Sommerville (#5), Daniel Atyeo (#15) or Joel Leblanc (#27)? Can Ricky Arbeau (#71) score the win in the race run in honour of his father? How about Line-X Pro Stock competitor Andrew Rodgers (#54) wheeling Rick Cashol’s ride in the big event? One thing is certain, fans are set to be treated to an epic show!

Three support classes will compete, and there’s a similar storyline brewing in all three classes where through two events, one driver has managed to capture feature wins in both races so far. Line-X Pro Stock driver Clark Moore (#54), Gallon’s Towing and Auto Salvage driver Tyler Collett (#21), and Atlantic Modified Tour competitor Chris Wilson (#2W) all have scored wins in two features thus far in 2025, and the field will be hungry to stop their hot streaks.

Moore earned his first two career Line-X Pro Stock wins in consecutive weeks, and is charging for three in a row. He scored last week’s win in dramatic fashion – with a photo finish over Kevin Moore (#88). The Ricky Bobby 150 typically brings out many Line-X Pro Stock drivers, and with an Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series event a week later, expect to see some drivers log laps in preparation for the ReCar 200 on July 5th.

Collett now has three wins in a row dating back to 2024, and is solidifying himself as the top dog in the Gallon’s Towing and Auto Salvage Sharp Shooter division. Who will stop his hot streak? Could Darren Wilcox (#32), Jason Duffield (#91), Torrin Mitchell (#88), Alex Lawson (#14), Randy Storey (#92), or Braden Carr (#74) crack Riverview Ford victory lane?

Chris Wilson (#2W) earned a record setting eighth career Speedway 660 Modified win one week ago – his second of the year after winning the Tour’s season opener at Petty International Raceway. This week will be an extended distance race for the Atlantic Modified Tour – a 100-lap showdown split into twin 50-lap features. This will be the longest distance race the tour has run, and everyone will be hungry for victory including past champions of the series in Joe Hoyt (#17) and Yves McCray (#58), defending Speedway 660 champion Doug Matchett (#75), and one of the favorites to win the Street Stock portion of the Ricky Bobby 150 in Luc McLaughlin, who will be filling in for TJ Leighton (#29).

Action starts at 4pm on Saturday June 28th at Speedway 660 with qualifying heat races for the 7th Annual Ricky Bobby 150. Grandstand tickets are just $25, and as always, kids fifteen (15) years of age and under are admitted free! Pit admission is $35. Please note that pit access is restricted to those aged sixteen (16) years of age and older, except for youth who are direct family members of a driver, who can enter the pits with proper signed waivers. All entrants to the pits must complete the e-waiver prior to entering the pits.
