Luc McLaughlin Tops List of Opening Weekend Winners!
(June 16th, 2025) – Speedway 660 finally kicked off their 2025 season – delayed by nearly a month thanks to mother nature – with a double header weekend of competition featuring action from all four stock car divisions plus an exciting Enduro!
Luc McLaughlin (#11) highlighted the winners for the weekend, earning his second consecutive victory in the Targett’s Windows and Doors Street Stock 100 and setting himself up as a favorite for the upcoming Ricky Bobby 150! McLaughlin had to outduel stiff competition from past Shur-Fit Automotive, Bumper to Bumper Street Stock champions Riley Goodwin (#77) and Justin Cole (#38). Cole would end up in the pits during the closing laps, and Goodwin would settle for second behind McLaughlin. Behind Goodwin, Ron Enkel (#52) earned a big podium run, as Dan Gillespie (#83) and Karl Schaefer (#00) rounded out the top five.
Cole and McLaughlin won heat races to set the grid for the main event.
Clark Moore (#54) earned his first career Line-X Pro Stock feature win on Father’s Day Sunday! Moore opened up an early lead he would never relinquish, besting Kevin Moore (#88) and heat winner Marcel Leblanc (#30) fo take his monumental checkered flag. Six (6) Line-X Pro Stocks were in attendance.
A light field of Late Model Sportsman made an opening day appearance with the field expected to grow throughout the summer, but action certainly was not light! Jacob Logan (#37) would end up earning the win over “The Old Musket” Richard Atkinson (#40) and BJ Gillespie (#69). Logan would sweep the day, also earning the heat race victory.
Tyler Collett (#21) picked up where he left off in Gallon’s Towing & Auto Salvage Sharp Shooter division last year – in Riverview Ford Victory Lane. The sophomore driver and reigning Rookie of the Year asserted himself a championship contender with his strong victory, claiming top honours over past champion Darren Wilcox (#32) and multi-time winner Matt Martin (#33). Austin Harnish (#13) and Randy Storey (#92) would round out the top five.
Sixteen (16) Gallon’s Towing & Auto Salvage Sharp Shooters were in attendance, with Collett and Torrin Mitchell (#88) earning heat race victories.
Saturday the season kicked off with the Big Daddy’s Towing & Auto Salvage Enduro Clash! Mother nature would make a bit of appearance, but fans were thrilled with non-stop action! Peter Lennan (#87) would go to Riverview Ford Victory Lane over Emma Lobinsky (#7) and Jeffrey O’Donnell (#151).
Next up at Speedway 660 is Kid’s Day on Saturday June 21st, featuring a full day of action from the Line-X Pro Stocks, Late Model Sportsman, Shur-Fit Automotive, Bumper to Bumper Street Stocks, Gallon’s Towing & Auto Salvage Sharp Shooters, and the first stop from the Atlantic Modified Tour! Start time is 6:30pm!
