(FREDERICTON, NB – August 11th, 2021) – Speedway 660 is excited to announce that the Heart of a Champion Hot Rod Classics powered by Conrad Bros will be making a stop at the Geary, New Brunswick oval during SpeedWeekend 2021. The growing series of Vintage Hot Rods have been added to the Sunday, September 5th card and will help set the stage for the Pro Stock 250 later that evening. SpeedWeekend 2021 is a three day event, running from Friday, September 3rd to Sunday, September 5th.

The Heart of a Champion Hot Rod Classics racing series showcases race cars which were built in 1980 or before, giving long-time fans an opportunity to relive precious memories and at the same time provide a platform where newer fans can experience race cars of a bygone era. The Series began racing in 2020 and the 2021 season has taken them to Petty International Raceway, Riverside International Speedway and Oyster Bed Speedway. This Saturday’s Maritime Car Wash Classic at Scotia Speedworld marks their first race at the 3/10-mile Enfield, Nova Scotia oval and is the last stop for the Series prior to SpeedWeekend 2021.

Fans will not only see some cool cars but some familiar names and faces at the wheels of them. Since Cy Harvey (Elmsdale, NS) went to victory lane in the inaugural race for the Hot Rods last August, interest in the series has been brisk with several teams building cars over the off-season and more picking away at racing rides throughout the Summer. The Series as seen three different winners in as many races. Tylor Hawes (Porters Lake, NS) jumped in by winning his first race in his first start in July at Petty International Raceway in “The Hugger,” a tribute to Jim Hallahan. Same song, different dance for Stacey Clements (Timberlea, NS) in his Junior Hanley throwback as he drove to victory lane at Riverside International Speedway. Jeff Ainslie (Halifax, NS) put “The Hound” back on top in the first stop to Prince Edward Island for the Series in August at Oyster Bed Speedway.

The three day festival of speed starts on Friday, September 3rd with the SpeedWeekend Kick Off Show featuring racing action from the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters, Atlantic Modified Tour and a “Turn Five Concert” featuring Hazzard. SpeedWeekend 2021 continues Saturday with an extend distance Late Model Sportsman feature headlining the card. The Maritime League of Legends Tour Cross Roads Cycle 40, Tim’s Corner Motorsports Bandolero Blast and Passione Flooring & Interiors East Coast Mini Stock Tour will fill out the Saturday card. The Legends, Bandoleros and Mini Stock Tour return Sunday and will be joined by Heart of a Champion Hot Rod Classics powered by Conrad Bros, DMR Street Stocks and the Atlantic Modified Tour ahead of the Pro Stock 250.
