A Double-Header Wknd at 660!

It’s a very special weekend in the Geary Woods. Speedway 660 is getting ready for action on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. On Saturday at 7PM the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter 30 is the prime attraction and on Sunday at 2PM the first 200 lap ENDURO takes the green flag.

“A lot of race fans make plans to camp at the track this weekend to take in the 30 lap Sharp Shooter event and the the ENDURO race” said Speedway 660’s Max Roy. “It’ll be a lot of fun because there’s a full card of racing Saturday night and on Sunday things get really wild when the ENDURO race teams hit the track for their unique form of racing.” 4 cyl dust-up (June 22/2013You can always expect a “dust-up” or two every time the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter drivers go racin at Speedway 660. On Saturday night these little cars will run a 30 lap feature, which is double what they usually do.

In addition to the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters, fans will also see point racing in four other divisions on Saturday night. The Westwood Estate Apartments Bandolero, DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock, Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman and Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock divisions will all be part of the show. Then on Sunday, the wildest, craziest racing in the Maritimes takes over Speedway 660.

“The Sharp Shooters always put on a great show and this 30 lap feature will be intense, plus the point battles are really heating up in the other divisions” said Roy. “And on Sunday the intensity level will hit an even higher level because the ENDURO teams have been patiently waiting for their season to start and when the green flag flies we’ll see how long it takes for their patience to wear thin.” Courtney on her roof in ENDUROENDURO action at Speedway 660 is a lot of fun for the fans, but sometimes can get a little crazy for the drivers. A few of years ago Courtney Barton, who now races a Sharp Shooter, ended up in a precarious position  during an ENDURO race.

Saturday adult ticket prices are $14; Youth tickets, for kids between eight and 15 are $10; the Family Pass for two Adults and two Youths is $38. Sunday adult ticket prices are $12 and Youth tickets are $9. Family Passes are not available for ENDURO events. Admission is always free for Speedway 660’s youngest race fans, seven and under. Excitement continues to build for the upcoming Maritime Pro Stock Tour visit to Speedway 660. The Parts for Trucks 100 is scheduled for Saturday, July 5th at 7PM. It is one of the biggest races of the year and the only tour visit to the Geary Woods.John Flemming did a victory lap last year when the Maritime Pro Stock Tour came to Speedway 660. John’s win in the Geary Woods helped propel him to an unprecedented fourth tour championship!
