A Saturday Night Show Down at Speedway 660!

It’s still early in the season, but never too soon for race teams to start building momentum in the Speedway 660 championship point standings. This Saturday evening, drivers in all five weekly divisions will be back in action in the Geary Woods for week two of the local short-track racing season.

Early Season Success is Important

“We got off to a great start to 2014 last Saturday and fans saw incredible performances from Justin Cole and Steve Halpin in the Riverview Ford season opener” said Speedway 660’s Max Roy. “This weekend the weather will be warmer and the action is bound to heat up too as the drivers in our five weekly divisions go all out in pursuit of championship points.”

Cole won his heat, dash and feature in last weekend’s DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock Division. Halpin did the same thing in the Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock Division to claim the Jensen Financial hat-trick award. In addition to seeing the Street Stocks and Pro Stocks race this Saturday evening, fans will be treated to action in the West Wood Estate Apartments Bandolero, Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter and Martins Home Heating Sportsman Divisions.Steve Halpin victory lane pro stockSteve Halpin was pretty pleased with his incredible performance at Speedway 660’s Riverview Ford Season Opener last weekend.  This Saturday night, Halpin and his crew hope to continue their early season success in the Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock Division! 

“We are proud of Speedway 660’s brand of racing and our five incredible divisions showcase some of eastern North America’s most talented drivers” Roy said. “Our three hour race card is jam packed with high speed, short track action that thrills fans of all ages, so we encourage everyone to come see our drivers put on a show this Saturday night.”

Sportsman, Pro Stock and Street Stock heat races get underway Saturday at 7PM, but fans are encouraged to come early to see the Bando and Sharp Shooter heats at 6:20. The evening will wrap up with 20 lap Street Stock, 30 lap Sportsman and 40 lap Pro Stock feature races.

Adult ticket prices are $14; Youth tickets, for kids between eight and 15 are $10; the Family Pass for two Adults and two Youths is $38 and; admission is always free for Speedway 660’s youngest race fans, seven and under. Adult pit passes are available for an additional $2.

Excitement continues to build for the Pro All Star Series Tour event which is scheduled for Saturday, June 7th. Speedway 660 is proud to be the only race track in Atlantic Canada to host an annual PASS North, Super Late Model event.DJ Shaw (center) won the recent PASS race at the Autodrome Chaudiere in Val Junction, Quebec. Johnny Clark (right) was second and Mike Rowe (left) finished third. Race fans in Atlantic Canada, Maine and Quebec are waiting in anticipation for the big PASS race at Speedway 660 on June7th.

Speedway 660 is one of Canada’s premier stock car racing facilities. Located in New Brunswick’s Fredericton region, it attracts race teams and fans from the Maritimes, Maine and Quebec. The Speedway 660 racing season runs from mid May until Labour Day Weekend. SpeedWeekend 2014, one of the most prestigious short track events in eastern North America, is always a fitting way to wrap up Speedway 660’s racing season.
