Right around this time every year, I look at the calendar and wonder where the racing season went. It’s kind of like being a kid all over again. I remember getting out of school in late June and looking forward to an endless summer, only to realize a few short weeks later that September was coming along much faster than I thought it would.
July has arrived with Canada Day and the summer season. School is out and the vacation period is in full swing. Everybody loves to “come home” to the Maritimes during the summer and part of that homecoming includes a trip out to Speedway 660.
This is one of my favourite weeks of the Speedway 660 racing season. We all like The Riverview Ford Season Opener, which goes this Saturday night, for several reasons. First-off, we finally get to see some exciting short-track racing almost nine months after Cassius Clark celebrated his Auto Value 250 win at SpeedWeekend 2012.
The 2013 racing season roars to life on May 25th with the Riverview Ford Season Opener. I usually start my weekly “blogs” the same week the season starts, but there has been so much happen over the off-season that I thought I better start a week early.
