Like a thief in the night, Matt Maillet from Burton, stole the show at Speedway 660 on Saturday night. Maillet won the Martins Home Heating Sportsman 100 in front of the biggest crowd of the racing season. Dave O’Blenis, who had the dominant car, led the first three-quarters of the race before mechanical issues forced him to retire.
Race teams headed to Speedway 660 this weekend for the Martins Home Heating Sportsman 100 can pre-register for the race online. Just select Drivers on the menu bar at the top of this page, then select Driver Registration and fill out the online form. It will save you the time of registering for the race when you arrive at Speedway 660. On Saturday the Pit Gate opens at noon, practice begins at 1PM, the Grandstands open at 4PM and Sportsman time trials begin at 5PM. The Martins Home Heating Sportsman 100 has attracted a lot of attention among established race teams in the Maritimes. Little wonder, with first place prize money of $3000.00 up for grabs, it’s one of the biggest Sportsman races of the year. The race will also see the much anticipated debut of one of Canada’s up and coming young female racing stars.
The Martins Home Heating Sportsman Division has provided fans with plenty of exciting action over the years at Speedway 660.
