(August 17th, 2016 – Fredericton, NB) – Speedway 660 is pleased to announce a continuation of their partnership with McLaughlin Roof Trusses Limited which will see the company become title sponsor of the Pro Stock 250 event on Sunday, September 4th. The race, which enters its 16th season in 2016, will now be known as the McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250.
The McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250 is the culmination of Speedweekend 2016, a four day racing event that draws teams and fans from across Eastern Canada and the North East corner of the United States. Thousands converge at the Geary, New Brunswick oval to enjoy exciting racing action from the Bandolero division all the way up to the high powered Pro Stock class. The McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250 is also one of the richest races in Canada, boasting a $100,000 purse with a guaranteed $15,000 to the winner.

The McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250 has already created quite a stir in the local racing community. When registration opened for the event, 37 teams filed their intentions to compete in what is expected to be the biggest Pro Stock event in Atlantic Canada on the year. The latest to file an entry is Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock championship contender Kevin Moore of Fredericton.
McLaughlin Roof Trusses is a major supporter of stock car racing within the province. In addition to a partnership with Speedway 660 which includes title sponsorships of the McLaughlin Roof Trusses Best of the Best Pro Stock 150 and the McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250, the McLaughlin Roof Trusses logo adorns a number of cars at the track. Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock point leader Greg Fahey (St. Stephen) and Dustin Tucker (Fredericton), son of former multi-time McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250 champion Shawn Tucker, carry the McLaughlin Roof Trusses logos on their Pro Stock cars. In addition, Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman competitor George Jamieson proudly displays McLaughlin Roof Trusses on his race car.
The McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250 is the highlight of the Sunday racing card on Speedweekend 2016 at Speedway 660. Also on the September 4th card includes a 50-lap feature for the DMR Auto Street Stocks, the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter 30 and the Tim’s Corner Motorsports Bandolero Blast. Racing action begins at 2pm.
The Saturday, September 3rd racing event at Speedway 660 will kick off the racing portion of the weekend and will feature a 150-lap feature for Sportsman, a 35-lap Atlantic Modified Tour point event and the seventh round of the Upper Clements Park Maritime League of Legends Tour. Qualifying on Saturday night begins at 6:30pm.
The Capital City Auto Parts Enduro class will run their only race of the season at the track on Monday, September 5th at 2pm.
Popular local Country Rock band Mucky Fingers will open the weekend with a pre-race concert along with the annual Corn Boil on Friday evening, September 2nd.
