(July 11, 2016) Last Saturday we were treated to a great night of racing in the Geary Woods. In addition to the DMR Auto Sales 75 lap street stock race, we saw a cautionless 50 lap pro stock feature, a sportsman foto-finish and a thrilling sharp shooter race. Luke Dukeshire (00) and Courtney Barton get after it in the first qualifying heat race for the DMR Auto Sales Street Stock 75.
But when all is said and done Darcy O’Neil, from the Mirimachi, takes his 68 to victory lane. Darcy, who is running a part-time sked with us, is getting more comfortable and confident running at 660 every time out!
Second Street Stock heat is up next – ready for some action? Check out this sequence.
It starts out just behind Courtney O’Blenis (48) and involves Rick Cashol (54), Ryan Richard (55) and Robert Raynes (41). After this entertaining little spin-a-rama, fans knew we were in for another great night at Speedway 660! 
After our infield crew cleaned up we had a great battle for the win. Riley Goodwin (77) and O’Blenis, two former bando drivers, went door-to-door through three and four to see who could get to the stripe first.
Courtney continued her “dream season” by picking up another checkered flag. She then had to return to the pits to wait for the start of the 75 lap feature, unless she could find something else to drive!
The sharp shooters rolled out next and James McCoy “The Stock Car Boy” takes his little race car to victory lane. Nicely done James!
Adam Gavel, who won a sharp shooter feature a few weeks ago, picks up another checkered flag with a win in the second heat race.
Ryan Raynes (94) and Jacob Logan had a fierce battle going in the first Martins Home Heating sportsman heat race. These two rookies would also duke it out later in the night.
But this time Ryan has the advantage and beats Jacob and Justin Cole to the checkers.
Young Raynes enjoys a trip to the Riverview Ford Victory Lane. After a couple of pretty good years in street stock, Ryan is getting used to running a sportsman car. For those who don’t know, the driver of the 94 is the nephew of Rob Raynes, our defending street stock champ. 
All of the MOPAR fans were pretty pleased to see George Jamieson take his Fairview Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep to victory lane in the 2nd sportsman heat race. BTW that’s a Dodge, not a Chrysler or Jeep!
Here come the Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock. Whoops, Robert Thomlinson goes for a wild ride.
Ian Rasmussen drives by unscathed, but Braxton Stafford (91) and Brandon Skidmore (84) start their night in the beach! 
Derek Christie avoided tip-toeing through the beach and drove his Ford to victory lane in that eventful first pro stock heat race.
Brent Roy has been on a roll the last few weeks. He comes into the night leading the pro stock rookie of the year points and wins the second pro stock heat. About the only thing the Camry Kid hasn’t done this year is win a feature! 
It’s time for the sharp shooter feature. Doesn’t take long for things to get a little crazy as they go three wide down in one & two.
Curtis Collins (27) spends most of the race in the middle groove passing cars and moving to the front. 
Curtis crossed the stripe first and rolled into victory lane, however the little 27 car had an issue, in the post race inspection, and Collins ended up being disqualified.
Kyle MacKinnon crossed the stripe second in the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter feature, but eventually was awarded with the win. 
Kyle Boudreau, the defending sharp shooter champion, finished third but moved up to second after post race inspection.
Brody Levesque, who was fourth at the finish line, was awarded third place in the sharp shooter feature. 
The Martins Home Heating Sportsman 40 lap feature was a dandy. Jacob Logan (37) and Ryan Raynes picked right up where they left off in their heat race and battled each other hard for the lead in the feature. 
While Raynes and Logan were battling up front, Ryan Messer (1) comes into view as he races Courtney O’Blenis for third. That’s right, Courtney (74) was doing double duty on Saturday night. In addition to running her street stock ride, she raced her sister’s sportsman car. Alexandra was unable to be at Speedway 660 Saturday night so Courtney jumped into her car.
After Raynes had difficulties and dropped back, Ryan Messer began to challenge Logan for the lead and the win. The two boys from Harvey ran hard and clean for the last couple of laps.
This shot was taken a millisecond after the top three got to the finish line. Drew Greenlaw (23) obviously was third and electronic scoring determined that Messer got to the stripe just ahead of Logan.
Ryan Messer is only 15 years old, but the 2015 sportsman rookie of the year is leading the points in 2016. Ryan is riding the “Big Orange Wave” at 660 this season and is making his family, crew and fans extremely happy!
Jacob Logan came within a whisker of winning his first-ever sportsman feature in the Geary Woods. But Jacob was more than happy with second place and getting his first-ever podium. Hey Jacob, that first feature win is just around the corner! 
Drew Greenlaw came home third on Saturday night. Drew has been very consistent so far this season and is second in the points and trying to chase down Mr. Messer for the championship.
The Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock feature really was something to “write home about.” The two heat race winners started up front and Derek Christie (9) and Brent Roy race hard for the early lead.
After the “Camry Kid” took the lead and drove away, Greg Fahey gets around Christie and tried to chase down the leader. But this race stayed “green” the entire 50 laps and Fahey was unable to catch the leader.
Brent Roy does a burn-out and a “Polish Victory Lap” after winning his first-ever Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock feature.
In addition to the feature victory, Roy picks up the CRF Chassis Rookie of the Race Award, presented by GD Fabrication.
Greg Fahey, who is chasing his fourth pro stock championship, was second on Saturday night. Everyone at 660 wishes Greg the best of luck this coming weekend as he heads down to Riverside International Speedway for the IWK 250.
Big Kevin Moore drove his car to a third place finish. Kevin, who finished second in pro stock points last season, is currently this year’s championship point leader.
It’s time for driver introductions just before the DMR Auto Sales Street Stock 75.
The race gets off to a quick start with Riley Goodwin leading early before sliding up the track and opening up the inside lane for Roger Slocum.
Riley had some mechanical issues and required assistance from our very capable infield crew to get the 77 back to the pits.
Here comes Courtney O’Blenis to challenge Slocum for the lead. She tries the high side, but that doesn’t work so…..
…she dives to the bottom, takes the lead and checks out. This girl has been fast all season, but on this night she seemed to find another gear and drove the 48 all the way to…. 
…victory lane where Mike Francis, from DMR Auto Sales, greets Courtney and presents her with the trophy for winning the longest street stock race of the season. Nice job young lady! 
Robert Raynes settles for second place in the DMR Auto Sales Street Stock 75. It’s Rob’s 18th straight podium finish, but who’s counting?
Mike congratulates Dary O’Neil for a strong performance in the street stock 75. The “Lad from the Miramichi” drove the 68 across the finish line in third place.
