O’Blenis finds another way to win!

(June 25, 2016) Dave O’Blenis was back in the Riverview Ford Victory Lane at Speedway 660 on Saturday. Just a week after winning the Martins Home Heating Sportsman 125, O’Blenis won the Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock feature. But it was unlike any other win the five time pro stock champ has ever had, because he wasn’t behind the wheel of an O’Blenis Motorsports race car.

On Saturday night Dave O’Blenis, who is running a limited pro stock schedule in 2016, was a substitute driver for Kevin Moore. O’Blenis won his heat race and then won the pro stock 50 lap feature ahead of Greg Fahey. Brent Roy won the other pro stock heat race before coming home third in the feature and taking the CRF Chassis Rookie of the Race Award, presented by GD Fabrication.

“Big Kevin is a little larger than I am so the biggest problem was trying to get comfortable in the car which just kept getting better from practise to heat race to the feature” said O’Blenis. “My goal was to get a good result for Kevin and send his car back to him in one piece so I guess we accomplished that tonight.”

Courtney O’Blenis continued her torrid pace in DMR Auto Sales Street Stock division action. She won her third feature of the year finishing just ahead of Rob Raynes and Rick Cashol. Noah Gillespie and Raynes won the street stock heat race.

“Rob and I mixed it up pretty good in the heat race and I got the worst of that deal so I was motivated to go out in the feature and try to get the win” Courtney said. “Street stock racing can be pretty rough some times and after the heat race my team got me to settle down, relax and get focused for a good run in the feature.”Courtney OBlenis feature winner June 25, 2016On Saturday night Courtney O’Blenis grabbed the checkered flag and her third street stock feature win of the 2016 racing season!

Ryan Messer was up on the wheel in the Martins Home Heating Sportsman Division on Saturday night. Messer won his second feature of the year while Drew Greenlaw and George Jamieson finished second and third. Kyle Orr and Jacob Logan won the sportsman heat races.

There was a first time Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter feature winner on Saturday night. Adam Gavel won the race by beating Allison Hall and Bryan Suttie. Hall and Curtis Collins were the Sharp Shooter heat race winners.

Speedway 660 swings right back into action next Saturday night. The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will be in town for the Cummins 100. Then On Saturday, July 9th the DMR Auto Sales Street Stock 75 will be featured.
