(July 26, 2015) Congratulations to Greg Fahey and Cassius Clark for earning guaranteed starting spots in the Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 250 on SpeedWeekend in September. Greg won the McLaughlin Roof Trusses Best of the Best 150 last weekend, while Cassius came home second. It was an exciting night of racing in the Geary Woods. Greg Fahey pit shot 2015There’s always lots of last minute work going on in the pits on race day. With the McLaughlin Roof Trusses Chevrolet up on jacks and the crew busy at work, driver Greg Fahey figures it’s time to take a little walk, perhaps over to Joyce’s Pit Stop for some of our Famous Speedway Fries. After-all a driver has got to be well fed before going 150 laps!Lee Goodine tech shed 2015With over 80 cars in the pits it was a busy night in the tech shed. Lee Goodine runs her Street Stock through tech inspection and answers a few questions about her car before the races.Courtney Barton in pits 2015Hey what are you doing in there?  We heard a rumour, earlier this season, that Courtney Barton was going to debut a Street Stock car sometime this season. Well that’s exactly what she did on Saturday night. BTW track down Courtney if you are interested in buying a good little Sharp Shooter!Glyn JR  SR and Brenda Nott in the pits Team Nott agreed to let us take a race day picture. Brenda is a little camera-shy, that’s Glyn Sr. sitting “side-saddle” on the wheeler and JR looks pretty relaxed moments before qualifying begins for the Best of the Best 150.Pro Stock action 2015 BoBOK lets go racing. First qualifying heat for the McLaughlin Roof Trusses 150 opens the show. Twenty-two Pro Stocks are in the Geary Woods for this big night of racing.Cassius Clark heat winner, July 2015Tim Elliot flies the first checkered flag of the night and it goes to Cassius Clark. The former Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 250 winner came up from Farmington, Maine to drive for the legendary Rollie MacDonald.Pro Stock action 2015 Whoops, we’ve got a little spin in heat number two which brings out a Service Master Clean Caution!Paul Gahan heat winner 2015When the smoke clears, Paul Gahan has a nice run and wins the second Pro Stock heat race.Dave OBlenis heat winner 2015 BoBThe third heat goes to Dave O’Blenis. The four-time Best of the Best winner will go for his third straight BoB 150 victory a little later.Bando action 2015Here come the Bando-Boys! These little cars are always a fan favourite in the Geary Woods and on this night they put on a great show.Ashton Tucker Bando heat win 2015Ashton Tucker, racing out of Sunny Corner, wins the Bando heat race. Ashton has two Bando cars and decided to leave the silver 32 back home in the Miramichi this week.Bryan Suttie Sharp Shooter heat winner 2015 Bryan Suttie grabs the checkered flag after winning our first Sharp Shooter heat race.Sharp Shooter action 2015 The second Sharp Shooter heat sees these guys go three-wide! That’s not all that unusual in this wild little division.Curtis Collins Sharp Shooter heat winner 2015Curtis Collins, racing out of Barnsville near Saint John, takes the win and parks his Pub’s Drive Thru Bottle Exchange Sharp Shooter in Victory Lane.Rick Cashol Street Stock heat winner 2015 Ricky Cashol wins the first Street Stock heat. Cashol is still looking for the magic that brought him five Street Stock championships at Speedway 660.Rob Raynes Street Stock heat winner 2015Robert Raynes continues his dream season by winning our second Street Stock heat race. Rob has been driving the wheels off the 41 in an effort to claim his first-ever championship.Braxton Stafford Sportsman heat winner 2015 Blackville’s Braxton Stafford won his first-ever heat race last time out at Speedway 660. Winning is infectious for this kid because he came right back out and took the checkered flag again in the first Sportsman heat on Saturday night! You can tell he’s got a great smile inside that helmet.George Jamieson Sportsman heat winner 2015George Jamieson wins the second Sportsman heat race. George is sponsored by McLaughlin Roof Trusses the company that is presenting the Best of the Best 150.Bando action 2015It’s feature time and first up we’ve got the Bandos. They raced hard and what a finish we had!MacKenzie Brewer wins Bando feature July 25, 2015Oh what a night! MacKenzie Brewer celebrates his 15th birthday in style by winning the West Wood Estates Bandolero feature. Nicely done MacKenzie! BTW, MacKenzie is also sponsored by McLaughlin Roof Trusses.Ashton Tucker 2nd place Bando feature, July 25, 2015 Bando heat winner Ashton Tucker ran hard in the feature and came really close to winning it. Tucker had a nice 2nd place finish.Braden Langille 3rd place Bando feature July 25, 2015Braden Langille, our Bando point leader, had to settle for a third place finish on this night. Braden comes all the way from Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia to race with us every week.Brewer and Tucker shake hands Bando Sportsmanship Ashton comes over to wish MacKenzie a happy birthday and to congratulate him on his awesome win. Now that’s the kind of sportsmanship we like to see in our sport. Good job boys! Sharp Shooter action 2015It’s time for the Sharp Shooter feature. With over twenty of these units out on the track we’re gonna see some wild and crazy action!Sharp Shooter action 2015Did we just say wild and crazy?  It’s all a blur to Noah Gillespie in number 69 as he tries to avoid spinning cars and a dust storm in the Geary Woods!Jeremy Doran Sharp Shooter feature winner, July 25, 2015It’s been a tough few weeks for Jeremy Doran, but he got back to the Riverview Ford Victory Lane on Saturday night. Despite some rough outings the defending champion is still leading the points parade.Neil Miousse 2nd place Sharp Shooter feature, July 25, 2015 Neil Miousse drove his Best Metals Sharp Shooter to a second place feature finish. He did a great job considering his crew chief April had the night off!Ryan Richard 3rd place Sharp Shooter feature, July 25, 2015Ryan Richard takes third place in the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter feature. Ryan runs the number 80 in tribute to his hero, former Sportsman driver Dan McNeil.Street Stock action 2015The lights come on as the sun goes down and the Street Stock feature  takes center-stage. They would go caution-free in their 30 lap feature!Street Stock action 2015It was a pretty sun-set in the Geary Woods, but the drivers involved in this battle for the lead had other things on their minds!Courtney OBlenis feature winner street stock, July 25, 2015I’ve always wanted to do this!” Courtney O’Blenis celebrates her first-ever DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock feature victory! This soon-to-be Grade 11 student at Salisbury High is having a sensational rookie season!Geoff Tugwell Street Stock 2nd place feature July 25, 2015Smithtown’s Geoff Tugwell finished a strong second in the Street Stock feature. Geoff took time in his post-race interview to congratulate Courtney on her victory.Robert Raynes 3rd place Street Stock feature, July 25, 2015How does he do it? Robert Raynes continues his streak of podium finishes by grabbing third in the Street Stock feature. The points leader has finished in the top three in every feature race this season. Courtney is one happy young lady after winning the Street Stock feature. Great job girl! Now you can do a little braggin at the O’Blenis dinner table.Sportsman action 2015Oh Baby it’s dark outside! The action heats up in the 40 lap Sportsman feature. These guys are all battling hard for position, but someone has checked out up front!Braxton Stafford Sportsman feature winner, July 25, 2015And that someone is Braxton Stafford! The kid follows up his heat win with his first-ever Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman feature victory. Braxton was very polite in his post-race interview thanking his family for supporting his racing efforts, the other Sportsman drivers for racing him clean, Martin’s Home Heating for sponsoring the division and our great Speedway 660 fans for coming out to see the races. Nicely done Braxton, you are the man!Ryan Messer 2nd place Sportsman feature, July 25, 2015Rookie Ryan Messer comes home 2nd in the Sportsman feature. Ryan thanked his Dad Robb for all the wrenching he does on the car. Ryan has been 2nd twice so far this year and his first-ever Sportsman feature win can’t be too far away!Drew Greenlaw 3rd place Sportsman ferature, July 25, 2015Drew Greenlaw and his Eastport, Maine “fan club” celebrate an impressive 3rd place finish in our Sportsman feature. Drew has been really consistent this year and is moving on up in the point standings.Pro Stock action 2015It’s time to find out who is the Best of the Best for 2015. Dave O’Blenis (#48), a four-time BoB 150 winner, drivers underneath Steve Halpin for the early lead. O’Blenis had a dominating car for the first 100 laps!Pro Stock action 2015Lonnie Sommerville and Cassius Clark are no strangers to Speedway 660 fans. They both run up near the front during the 2015 version of the Best of the Best.Pro Stock action 2015Don’t look now, but here comes a two-time BoB 150 winner to challenge a four-time winner of this prestigious race.Greg Fahey BoB 150 winner, 2015How about this? Greg Fahey climbs out of the McLaughlin Roof Trusses Chevrolet, after winning the McLaughlin Roof Trusses Best of the Best 150. That’s got to make the team owner, major sponsor and race sponsor pretty happy!Cassius Clark 2nd place Best of the Best 2015Tim Terry interviews 2nd place finisher Cassius Clark for Tim’s Corner. ca.  BTW, Tim did stellar work in the Speedway 660 announce booth on Saturday night and a top two BoB finish ensures Cassius a spot in the Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 250 on SpeedWeekend!Lonnie Sommerville 3rd BoB 2015Lonnie Sommerville drove his heart out, but just couldn’t crack the top two.
