Kid’s Day is a Blast!

May 28th, 2015: Sunday is special day for Speedway 660’s youngest fans and drivers. It’s Kid’s Day in the Geary Woods featuring a 25 lap Bando Blast. The racing begins at 2PM, but everyone is invited to arrive early for a pre-race autograph session in the pits between 1 and 1:45PM. The annual candy scramble will also take place on Sunday during the intermission. 

Calling all Kids! 

“It’ll be an action packed day with lots of fun for race fans of all ages, especially the kids” said Speedway 660’s Max Roy. “Before the first green flag they’ll get to go into the pits to meet the drivers and check out the race cars, then they’ll see a full card of incredible racing including the Bando Blast.”  Brent Roy signs autographs 2014 Some youngsters may be a little shy but they all love to meet our drivers, get autographs and check out the race cars. In addition to the West Wood Estates Apartments Bandoleros, fans will see the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters, DMR Auto Sales Street Stocks, Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman and Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stocks. Adult ticket prices are $14 dollars – and for this week only kids 15 and under will be admitted free. “Young people in the stands and in the driver’s seats are the future of our sport and Kid’s Day is an awesome way for us to show appreciation for all of the youngsters who love racing” said Roy. “We’ve got more kids driving race cars than ever before and they are attracting a younger crowd to Speedway 660.”660_1353Levi Rossiter is one of the young drivers fans will see on Sunday afternoon. Our 2014 Bando Rookie of the Year finished 3rd in last week’s feature and will be a strong contender in this week’s Bando Blast!   There is no rain date for this Sunday’s event. If the weather is unsettled on Sunday morning, fans and race teams are encouraged to call the Speedway 660 race line at 506-454-7223 or visit www.speedway660.com for race day status updates. Beginning next week the races move to the traditional Saturday evening slot. On Saturday, June 6th at 6:30PM fans will be entertained by the first big Sportsman race of the season. The Martin’s Home Heating 100 is the first event in a three race series, at three different provincial tracks. Points accumulated at Speedway 660, Petty International Speedway and Miramichi Speedway will determine the first-ever New Brunswick champion.Sportsman action May 2015We saw a great Sportsman race on the Riverview Ford Season Opener. Fans can expect more of the same in the 40 lap feature this Sunday and in the Martin’s Home Heating 100 on June 6th  “We’ve got a great roster of Sportsman drivers and expect a lot of drivers from other areas to enter the Martin’s Home Heating 100 on June 6th” said Roy. “We’re excited to work with the owners of Petty and Miramichi to give New Brunswick race fans the opportunity to follow this provincial championship series.” Speedway 660 is one of Canada’s premier stock car racing facilities. Located in New Brunswick’s Fredericton region, it attracts race teams and fans from the Maritimes, New England and Quebec. The Speedway 660 racing season runs from mid May until Labour Day Weekend. SpeedWeekend 2015, one of the most prestigious short track events in eastern North America, wraps up Speedway 660’s racing season.
