Fredericton N.B. – This Saturday June 6, 2009, Speedway 660 will host a full day of excitement. Fans won’t just see excitement on the track, but the young races fans will have double the excitement with the Kids Day festivities. DQ has hopped on board for another year with Speedway 660 to sponsor the kid’s day festivities.
The evening’s events will begin with an “In-the-Pits” pre-race autograph session from 6pm-7pm, where kids get to meet, have pictures taken and get autographs from their favourite drivers. This is a chance for the young race fans to talk to the drivers as they are not permitted to go in the pit area under the age of 16 during the races. The drivers especially look forward to the opportunity of meeting their race fans and sign autographs for the kids. This is a chance for the drivers to interact with their youngest fans for an extended period prior to the race. The drivers rarely get to leave the pit area as they are usually busy with pre-race meetings and the preparing their cars for the night’s events.
Some of the festivities will include face painting, and the ever so popular candy scramble on the front stretch during intermission. This will give the youngsters an opportunity to fill their sweet tooth for the evening. Also for our young race fans enjoyment will be two bouncy castles from GO GO Gymnastics as well as our Speedway 660 mascot Speedway, the Moose, on hand to meet and greet with the fans. Speedway has been a hit with the race faces each weekend. So if you see Speedway, don’t hesitate to give him a high five.
This Saturday also hosts the Districts School Days. This event will give free admission to the young race fans under 15. If a youngster has received a voucher from a district 17 school, an adult with them will be able to attend the event for just $5.
Aside from the DQ Kids Day festivities the Coast Tire Street Stock, Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman, Irving Lubricants Pro Stock and AOW divisions will be on track racing in the weekly points’ series. Race fans; be sure to bring your cameras and autograph books.
It’s sure to be an exciting evening with lots of Kids day festivities and racing action. So come on out to the Geary Woods this weekend and check out Speedway 660 for some WicKID Family Fun!
