Fredericton, NB – Normally we get excited about one racing event over the weekend , but having twice the action and double the racing is event better! Speedway 660 will hold its second double header race weekend of the 2008 season.
Starting Friday at 8pm the Enduro series will run its second race in the division for the 2008 season. At the last race on June 6th, Ed Vallis swept the race with his 38c Ford while past champions Benjii Ruff and Dale
Hatheway in the #8 continued to try and make 2008 another championship year, with a second place finish, while Kenny Barton in the #21 rounded up the tail end of podium finishes.
Saturday, August 16th, Speedway 660 will host the Street Stock 75 with returning sponsor, Dent Daddy. “We are really excited to have Josh and Dent Daddy on board again to sponsor the event this year” said co-owner Steve Burns. “It should make for a good race with competition coming from other tracks as well.” This will be the first big event during the 2008 season for the Coast Tire Street Stocks with the second event following up on Leisure Family RV Centers SPEEDWEEKEND.
Aside from the Dent Daddy 75, the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman and Irving Lubricants Pro Stock divisions will continue their quest for points. Last weekend was the second regular feature in a row the #20 Fahey Pro Stock team took home the feature win. In the Irving Lubricants Pro Stock points there is only a twenty two point difference between the Fahey and second place charger Brent Wiggins. Matt Harris is making a charge also only 7 points back of Wiggins in 3rd. The Martin’s Home Heating points were put on a halt for last weekends Firecracker 150 however the drivers will return this week to compete for championship points. In Coast Tire Street Stock Rick Cashol has a slight 7 point advantage over Geary’s Matt Matheson.
With Leisure Family RV Centers SPEEDWEEKEND approaching fast (only 15 days away, but who’s counting?) Speedway 660 officials are making all kinds of preparations for the BIG weekend. The recent announcement of Andy Santerre taking part in the Peterbilt 250 will add some extra hype for the weekend.
