Fredericton, NB – The CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour is heading to the Geary Woods this weekend and the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour 100 is promising to be one of the many exciting races to make this another action packed weekend at Speedway 660. Upwards of 32 cars are expected to make their way to the Geary woods this Saturday night for the tour’s first Speedway visit of the season. Green flag is scheduled to fly at 6pm (5:10 start for time trials).
This week’s lineup will reflect both quantity and quality with the Pro Stocks from the tour racing. Current points leader Wayne Smith, along with other drivers such as Rollie MacDonald, Shawn Turple and rookie Craig Slaunwhite, are expected as well as several drivers familiar with Speedway including Saint John’s Lonnie Sommerville, 2006 Peterbilt 250 Champion and Fredericton’s Shawn Tucker, who calls NBIS his home track and is defending tour champion and Peterbilt 250 champion. The tour drivers won’t be the only ones taking part in this weekend’s 100 lap event, fans can expect to see Speedway 660 regulars Greg Fahey, Brent Wiggins, Matt Harris and Kevin Moore take a stab at winning the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour 100.
In addition to the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour 100, fans will be treated to points racing in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman (30-lap feature) and Coast Tire Street Stocks (20-lap feature). Some of the newest additions to podium finishes were admitted two weeks ago as fans saw another great week of racing at Speedway 660 in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman division. This weekend the driver’s of each division, excluding the Irving Lubricants Pro Stock division, will battle one another for championship points. Currently the #20 of Jason Shannon and 2006 Division Champion, Rick Cashol, are at a tie with only an eight point difference between them an third place contender, Robert Raynes, in the Coast Tire Street Stock division. In the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman division former champions, Brian Gillespie and Bradley Logan along with Wade Harris are separated by a mere one point between the first and second positions. Will there be a new leader in both divisions this weekend after the feature events?
With the fast paced Pro Stocks, the edgy Sportsman and the unpredictable Street stocks; who knows what kind of excitement fans will be treated to this weekend at Speedway 660 so make sure you check it out. It is sure to be WicKID.
