SPEEDWAY 660 RETURNS TO RACING JULY 11TH WITH RIVERVIEW FORD LINCOLN SEASON OPENER

Six additional dates announced, including SpeedWeekend 2020

(FREDERICTON, NB – June 26th, 2020) – Speedway 660 will return for their 27th consecutive season of stock car racing on Saturday, July 11th with the Riverview Ford Lincoln Season Opener. The event will see all four house divisions in action, including the RE/MAX East Coast Elite Realty Pro Stock, Late Model Sportsman, DMR Auto Street Stock and Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters. Racing action will go green at 6:30pm.

Track officials are also excited to unveil additional dates for the 2020 season, which sees racing action every two weeks into late September. Speedway 660 will host all four house of their house divisions on July 25th, August 8th, August 22nd and September 19th. Those Saturday evening dates have a 6:30pm start time with any promotions or extended distance races to be announced at a later date.

SpeedWeekend 2020 will remain on the same dates as previously released. The 20th edition of the event will take place on Saturday, September 5th at 6pm and Sunday, September 6th at 2pm. The Saturday show will be highlighted with a 100-lap Sportsman race while Sunday’s show will be anchored by the 20th Annual Pro Stock 250.

“After a delayed start, we’re hard at work getting the facility ready to make some noise again,” said Max Roy of Speedway 660. “Teams have been busy testing and tuning their race cars and we’re excited to get the gates open again!”

For the first time since the track opened in 1994, track champions will not be crowned in this shortened season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The schedule of events is subject to change without notice and is fluid based off Department of Health and Government regulations surrounding COVID-19.
