(FREDERICTON, NB – June 19th, 2020) – A new era in entertainment is set to debut in Geary, New Brunswick beginning in July. Rucker’s Reels is slated to open next month, bringing the rural movie and entertainment experience to within a short drive of the capital city. The new venture will give a chance for those families and groups to enjoy a show under the stars while adhering to Department of Health guidelines around the COVID-19 pandemic.
Construction has begun on the grounds which are shared with Speedway 660, a 1/3-mile paved oval racing track. The new Rucker’s Reels on the property will be designed as such that both entertainment venues can operate concurrently. Rucker’s Reels will be a permanent venue for the community to enjoy for many seasons to come.
“The Rucker’s management team is very excited to start seeing our vision take shape,” said Brent Roy of Rucker’s Reels. “We wanted to come up with an idea that New Brunswickers could enjoy even during these times of a global pandemic. We also wanted to create an experience that would be here for years to come. Now that we’ve got some construction started, it is starting to become a reality!”
A full list of dates and movies that will be shown will be released closer to the confirmed opening date in July. Admission to the Rucker’s Reels will be $30 per carload.
“We wanted to keep the prices in check given everything that is happening right now,” said Roy. “We felt this was a good price point to be at so an entire family can enjoy an evening of entertainment without breaking the bank.”
