Fredericton N.B. Starting on the pole, Lonnie Sommerville of Saint John would lead the first 75 laps of the Coastal Blending and Packaging Sportsman 150.
On lap 75 there would be the competition caution for cars to refuel and make any adjustments. At the halfway point Dave O’Blenis of Boundary Creek was in second, with Matt Maillet of Oromocto in third, John Rankin of St. Martin’s in fourth, and Colby Smith of Cape Sable Island, NS rounding out the top five.
In the second half of the main event Smith would make a push to the front, moving into fourth on lap 76 and up to second by lap 82.
Smith would catch Sommerville on lap 117 before both go together as Smith pushed the back end of Sommerville around, sending both to the back of the field.
O’Blenis would inherit the lead, with Maillet in second and Glyn Nott of Burton up to third.
After a handful of cautions the most important would come at lap 125. On lap 124 a caution had also come out, but having to go to the pits Sommerville would be placed to the back of the field behind the lap cars. On the lap 125 caution, which Sommerville was involved in he would move into the middle of the field at the back of the cars on the lead lap.
He moved up into the fourth spot on lap 134 as Nott and Smith go together, sending them to the back. Sommerville would break back into the top three on lap 137 and second on lap 139.
With only seven laps to go Sommerville took the lead on the outside from O’Blenis to capture the feature.
O’Blenis would settle for second, with Mike Power Jr. of Osborne Corner in third. Rankin and Myles Harris of Nasonworth rounded out the top five.
In the 4 Cylinder feature Eldon Campbell of Moncton picked up the win, with Jeremy Doran of Fredericton in second and Luc McLaughlin of Geary in third.
