What makes our racing so great? Is it the speed, the excitement of watching our drivers go door-to-door through turn four or the competitiveness of three great divisions? Well, its all of those things and much more.
With time off to celebrate the New Brunswick Day Holiday Weekend, it’s an excellent time to look at what makes the action in the Geary Woods so special. In my books it’s the Speedway 660 Family.
Saturday July 25, 2009- Tonight we saw it all, rain delays, sun delays but it ended up to be a great night. The Carquest Maritime Pro Stock Tour came to Speedway 660 for The Parts for Trucks 100 that had previously been canceled due to rain. What a show it was !
Shawn Tucker passed John Flemming for the lead with 6 to go after spinning early and coming from the back. Turple rounded out top 3.
Myles Harris took home checkers in the Martins Home Heating Sportsman Feature and Smokin Joe Albert won the Coast Tire Street Stock Feature.
Full update tomorrow…..
This Saturday night under the lights at Speedway 660 the Carquest Maritime Pro Stock Tour is heading to the Geary Woods for the Parts for Trucks 100. After last Saturday nights Enduro 200 being cancelled due to rain once again everyone is ready to get back to racing. Once again there is another exciting night of racing coming up. This is the race that had to be re-scheduled due to rain canceling it the first time in June.
We deserve a great night of racing and that’s what we’ll get this weekend at Speedway 660. The Carquest Maritime Pro-Stock Tour rolls into the Geary Woods and that’s just what we need to quench our thirst for racing.
Officials at Speedway 660 made every effort to give the weather a chance to break however without fail it has won again. With very little precipitation showing on radars the rain has continued to fall all day, leaving officials no other choice but to cancel the event on July 18th, 2009. The 2nd Enduro of the year will be rescheduled for Sunday, August 9th, 2009 providing the Firecracker 150 runs the night before without being affected by weather. “We felt its the only option we have at this point”, said co-owner Steve Burns. “We’ve taken it on the chin along with the drivers and fans, it’s just part of the deal”, added Burns.
Next week the Maritime Pro Stock Tour revisits the Geary Woods to complete its previously rescheduled event from earlier in the summer.
Fredericton, NB – This Saturday under the lights at Speedway 660, fans will have a smashing good time for the first Enduro race of the 2009 season. This will be an exciting event for sure. The first Enduro event had to be cancelled due to Mother Nature. This is the first of several Enduro events this season.
Our street stocks, sportsmen and pro stocks are off this weekend, but there will still be action in the Geary Woods because the Enduro drivers will invade Speedway 660. This is the first time the Enduro division will ever run on a Saturday night. That’s because the first Triple Crown Pro Stock event is scheduled for Riverside International Speedway down in Antigonish.
Fredericton, NB – After an exciting weekend of racing last weekend, fans were looking forward to the big races this weekend, the Twin 100’s. The Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman 100 and Coast Tire Best of the Best Pro Stock 100 are now in the books at Speedway 660. Unfortunately Mother Nature has been less than kind this summer. The good news is, it was a gorgeous day for racing.
Today’s event featured regular points racing the in the Coast Tire Street Stock, Martin’s Home Heating division had their first big race of the 2009 season and the second and final race of the Best of the Best two race series sponsored by Coast Tire.
