Fredericton, NB – After an exciting night of racing last weekend, for the season opener, this weekend will be the first big event of the year.

Saturday, May 30th,  under the lights, fans will see drivers from across the Maritimes and Eastern United States compete for Max 1 Advanced Synthetic “Best of the Best 100”,  presented by COASTAL Blending & Packaging. This will be the first of a two race “Best of the Best” Series. Also racing Saturday night are the Coast Tire Street Stocks and Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman who will be battling it out for regular race points.

Riverview Season Opener is in the Books!

Fredericton N.B. – After a long awaited season, the Riverview Ford Lincoln Season Opener at Speedway 660 was a huge success. The Riverview Ford Lincoln Season Opener is now in the books and boy, what a night it was. The weather was perfect, a huge crowd, new drivers, new paint schemes as well as a great night of excitement.

Starting off the evening was the Coast Tire Street Stocks with their heats. At the beginning of the night Shawn Hyslop started out his evening very well by winning his heat, finishing second in the dash and moving on to take the big 20 lap feature win . Also winning his heat and dash and finishing second in the feature was Brian Fox. Bill Bellville finished third to round out the podium.

2009 Season Roars into Action this Weekend!

It’s that time of year again, winter is over and the the summer festivities are about to begin.  This Saturday the engines will be revving and the dust flying for the 16th season at Speedway 660 for the Riverview Ford Lincoln Season Opener.  There will be points racing in every division including the Coast Tire Street Stocks, the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman, the Irving Lubricants Pro Stocks and newly added AOW to the night’s event schedule.  The racing will go start at 7pm with heats, dashes and features in all divisions.

Its been a long week since the news about Mike Power’s passing came on Sunday morning. I must say though listening to Bill Hunt yesterday at the funeral (great job Bill) and remembering and telling all the “mike stories” has been comforting.
