Fredericton, NB – What started off as a gloomy day turned into bright sunny skies and tons of WicKID action packed fun at Speedway 660 this evening. The tour will leave the track this evening rounding up their final schedule appearance at Speedway 660 for the 2008 season and while winners on and off the track celebrate their victory wins.
In the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour race, the Parts for Trucks 100, The former Speedway 660 drivers (and current) dominated the top podium finishes. Lonnie Sommerville in the #23, who has in the past won a Peterbilt 250 and raced weekly at Speedway 660, took home the feature win tonight in the Parts for Trucks 100 while Rollie MacDonald in the #13 took home the second position. Rounding out the top three was the #48 of Dave O’Blenis, who was also a Peterbilt winner and former Speedway 660 driver. An honourable mention goes out to Greg Fahey in the #20 for being the top Speedway 660 driver in the race.
Fredericton, NB – The roar of engines will return to the Geary woods this weekend with the CARQUEST Maritime Pro Stock as well as point’s racing for the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman and Coast Tire Street Stocks. This Saturday will be the second time the tour has rolled into Speedway 660 and will be the final time for most of the tour drivers to get practice time before Leisure Family RV Centers SPEEDWEEKEND and the Peterbilt 250.

With the forecasted rain for this evening, Officials at Speedway 660 have postponed the ENDURO 200. Officials will announce a reschedule date as soon as it has been decided.
But don’t forget about this weekend’s Speedway Spiff Up days (Saturday and Sunday) from 8am-5pm. Come on out and volunteer your time at Speedway 660 for a Free ticket to the Peterbilt 250!!
Starting Saturday morning anyone who is interested in helping out around the speedway with various tasks, such as painting and/or maintenance throughout the day, will receive a free ticket to the Peterbilt 250 in exchange for their hard work. If you are interested in taking part in both days, Saturday and Sunday, you will receive a weekend pass ticket covering the events of Leisure Family RV Centers SPEEDWEEKEND. “This is a great opportunity for the fans to get involved around the speedway aside of the racing action” said co-owner Steve Burns. “Everyone who takes part in the event will not only get the satisfaction of helping us out but will get the benefits of admission to weekend of the Peterbilt 250″. A meal will be provided for all workers who take part however if you would like to bring your own lunch, please fell free to do so.

Fredericton, NB – It’s going to be a smashing good time for all this weekend at Speedway 660 with the second race of the Enduro series on tap for Friday night. This weekend originally had a double header weekend scheduled but Saturday’s Night of Destruction has been previously cancelled.
This Friday’s Enduro 200 is promising to be another exciting, action packed event with some new rookies signed up and returning veterans taking part in the event. Ed Vallis swept the first Enduro 200 of the season on June 6th with the returning champions Benjii Ruff and Dale Hathaway right on his tail. Could the dynamic duo of Ruff and Hathaway take this Friday’s enduro or will the #38c ford of Ed Vallis take home another victory?
Fredericton, NB – Speedway 660 wraps up another night of great racing in the Geary woods, having many winners walking away with great prizes. Tonight’s event featured, yet again, some newest additions to podium finishers. The event also gave the fans an opportunity to take home some BIG prizes with Purelator Food Bank Bingo. Purelator and Speedway 660 joined forces to take on the fight against hunger with a Bingo night in support of the Fredericton food Bank. The winners of tonight’s bingo games took home either an Ipod Nano or an Itouch and overall had a great time playing throughout the evening.
Fredericton, NB – The temperature hasn’t been the only thing rising at Speedway 660 this past week. The excitement for Leisure Family RV Centers Speedweekend along with the Peterbilt 250 has grown since the opening of the reservation hotline last Wednesday. The Peterbilt 250 is a race where various Pro Stocks from all over Canada and the United States take part in a 250 lap event. This weekend at Speedway 660, the Irving Lubricants Pro Stocks will get a very good practice run with the Coast Tire “Best of the Best” 100 on tap for Saturday.
Fredericton, NB – As the weather hits the high twenties off the track, the racing heats up at Speedway 660. Tonight’s feature’s held some of the newest additions to podium finishes; not to mention first timers to victory lane for 2008. The ladies got the opportunity to show the boys how racing is done and the mascots got their moment to shine.
In the Coast Tire Street Stock Division the #88 of Brian Fox looked as if he was going for a Robin’s Inn Hat Trick Award after winning his heat and dash but due to a misfortunate spin on lap eight in the feature, Fox had to settle ninth. Matt Matheson in the #2 has been destined since the beginning of the season to grab his first feature win of 2008. Matheson started the street stock feature in the seventh position and flew past numerous drivers to challenge the #11 of Rodney Ness. Ness lost the lead to Matheson on lap twelve while Rick Cashol in the #54 seen the opportunity to fly into second. Cashol then fought Matheson for the remaining nine laps, taking a charge every lap to get closer and closer to first. Matheson was to strong for the past champion and finally took home the feature win he has been looking for. Cashol had to settle for second while the 2007 champion, Mike Francis in the #23, rounded out the top three.
Fredericton, NB – After a long weekend of rest for stock car fans and drivers alike, Speedway 660 will return this weekend with some action packed points racing in all three divisions plus the Mascot Challenge during intermission AND the Powder Puff Race. Once a season the ladies get their night to shine and this Saturday, under the lights, the girls get to show the boys how it’s done. The drivers of the Coast Tire Street Stock division give up their car for this event. Fans can expect to see some exciting racing as the girls always put on a good show.
Officials at Speedway 660 have decided to cancel the Night of Destruction scheduled event for Saturday July 19, 2008.
Significant issues in booking all parties required for the event are sited as the main reason. “We really value the product we put forward to our fans on a weekly basis and we weren’t comfortable that things were coming together for the July 19th event to maintain that same level of quality”, sited Speedway 660 co-owner Chris Johnston.
There will be no racing held on Saturday July 19th. Hope to see everyone out for the Friday, July 18th Enduro.
