Schedule Changes; October 10th Event Cancelled, Ricky Bobby 150 Start Time Moved to 5pm

September 26th’s Ricky Bobby 150 will serve as 2020 finale

(FREDERICTON, NB – September 21st, 2020) – Speedway 660 officials have announced three changes to the completion of the 2020 season at the Geary, New Brunswick motorsports facility.

The next event on the season, the Ricky Bobby Street Stock 150 presented by DMR Auto on Saturday, September 26th, will now be the final race of the 2020 season. The Street Stock 75, originally scheduled for Saturday, October 10th, has been canceled. With the prestige and gravity that the Ricky Bobby 150 event carries, the track has opted to end the season on a high note with the major Street Stock event.

MCCRAY MAKES ANOTHER SUNDAY SPEEDWEEKEND MOMENT WITH WIN IN KROWN RUST CONTROL 35

(FREDERICTON, NB – September 8th, 2020) – Yves McCray (Neguac, NB) raced to his second SpeedWeekend Sunday win in as many years with his victory in the Krown Rust Control 35 at Speedway 660. McCray, who drove to victory lane in the Labour Day Classic in 2019, started seventh in the 35-lap feature and took what would be the eventual lead from Zean Dutcher (Miramichi, NB) just past the halfway point in the race. The final restart with eight laps to go would see McCray pull away from point leader Logan Power (Riverview, NB) to not only snap Power’s win streak but put McCray into victory lane for the first time in 2020. The win is McCray’s seventh in his Atlantic Modified Tour career.

BACK TWO BACK – TUCKER TAKES 20TH ANNUAL RE/MAX 250

FREDERICTON, NB – September 7th, 2020) – Ashton Tucker (Lyttleton, NB) became the first driver in the history of the RE/MAX East Coast Elite Realty Pro Stock 250 at Speedway 660 to win the event in back-to-back seasons Sunday with his win in the 20th Annual event. Tucker led 181 of the 250 laps and pocketed nearly $21,000 for his performance in the race. The 250 came down to a final restart with five laps to go, pitting two-time Maritime Pro Stock Tour champion Cole Butcher (Hantsport, NS) to Tucker’s rear bumper and Sydney, Nova Scotia’s Kyle Reid to his outside. Reid spun the tires on the final restart, setting up a showdown for third and a battle between Tucker and Butcher that ultimately resulted in Tucker racing away with his second straight 250 win.

Butcher, Reid, Steve Halpin (Saint John, NB) and Lonnie Sommerville (Barnesville, NB) completed the top five. Twenty-seven cars entered the event. Dave O’Blenis (Boundary Creek, NB), Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) and Ryan Messer (Harvey, NB) took home heat race wins.

Sunday support class racing was won by Yves McCray (Neguac, NB; Atlantic Modified Tour Krown Rust Control 35), Colton Noble (Upper Nine Mile River, NS; TCM Bandolero Blast Round Two), Jesse Deveau (Greenwood, NS; Mini Stock Open) and Riley Goodwin (McAdam, NB; DMR Auto Street Stock 50). They join Courtney O’Blenis (Boundary Creek, NB; Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman 125), Cody Byrne (Orwell Cove, PE; Mini Stock), Tanton Wooldridge (Summerside, PE; TCM Bandolero Blast Round One), Braden Langille (Shubenacadie, NS; Legend), Chris Wilson (South Esk, NB; Bryn Enterprises 35 Atlantic Modified Tour) and Randy Storey (Royal Road, NB; Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters) as SpeedWeekend winners in 2020.

STOREYBOOK START TO SPEEDWEEKEND 2020

(GEARY, NB – September 5th, 2020) – Randy Storey (Royal Road, NB) held off all challengers on a pair of late race restarts to capture the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter 50 Friday night to kick off SpeedWeekend 2020 at Speedway 660. Storey raced to the win ahead of Darren Wilcox (Fredericton, NB) and rookie Daniel Atyeo (Chipman, NB). Sixteen drivers answered the call to the green flag in the four cylinder feature. Storey and Atyeo won heat races ahead of the 50-lap feature.

SPEEDWEEKEND SUPPORT STORYLINES; BUILDING TO THE 20TH ANNUAL RE/MAX 250

(FREDERICTON, NB – September 3rd, 2020) – SpeedWeekend 2020 at Speedway 660 is right around the corner and with it comes three action packed days of racing. While the RE/MAX East Coast Elite Realty 250 is the marquee attraction of the Labour Day Weekend, there are ten feature events that are to be run between the green flag on Friday, September 4th and the start of the big show on Sunday, September 6th. From Bandoleros to Late Models and everything in between, there is something for every motorsports fan this weekend to enjoy at the Geary, New Brunswick oval.

ATLANTIC MODIFIED TOUR TO DOUBLE DIP ON SPEEDWEEKEND 2020

(FREDERICTON, NB – September 3rd, 2020) – The Atlantic Modified Tour returns to Speedway 660 this Labour Day weekend as a part of SpeedWeekend 2020. The open wheel cars and stars will be participating in two races this weekend – a non point exhibition race on Friday night, the Bryn Enterprises 35, and the third of six Atlantic Modified Tour point races on Sunday afternoon, the Krown Rust Control 35. Over a dozen drivers are expected to compete in the SpeedWeekend Sunday event. Racing begins on Friday evening, September 4th at 8pm while the Sunday, September 6th show is an afternoon one with racing slated for 2pm.

Boudreau Sharpest Shooter in Gunslinger 50

(FREDERICTON, NB – August 23rd, 2020) – Kyle Boudreau (Saint John, NB) dodged the bullets and was quick to the draw on a late restart within the final five laps to win the Second Annual Gunslinger 50 at Speedway 660 on Saturday night. It is the second victory of the season in the class for Boudreau. Malcolm Suley (Clarendon, NB), who led at halfway before an invert of all lead lap cars, finished second with Matt Martin (Haneytown, NB) completing the podium in the 26 car field. DMR Street Stock freshman Caleb Urquhart (Charter’s Settlement, NB) and Atlantic Modified Tour part-time driver Brody Levesque (Lincoln, NB) rounded out the top five.

SECOND ANNUAL SHARP SHOOTER SHOWCASE SATURDAY AT 660

(FREDERICTON, NB – August 19th, 2020) – The Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters will take the spotlight Saturday evening at Speedway 660 as they hit the track for the second annual Gunslinger 50 presented by Fairview Jeep Ram and Fredericton Gun Shop. Supporting the four cylinder drivers on the full card at the Geary, New Brunswick oval include the RE/MAX East Coast Elite Realty Pro Stock, Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman and DMR Auto Street Stock divisions. The green flag flies on Saturday, August 22nd at 6:30pm.
